Hello Everyone,

I'm really thrilled to share with you our latest music video, the first one that my brother and I actually direct in the Stats... and the first we shot on Epic!

I know the comments on YouTube are all about hating or not hating ICP (here is the question), so I hope we'll talk more about how well the Epic M and X performed on that forum :)

Enjoy.

(and if you do please "like" on Vimeo )

Wow, that's a serious production. Would love to hear about how you pulled that all together, cast , locations, concepts.

From a standing start seems like a video of that magnitude would be impractical. If you haven't, you should make a clip about how you made it happen.

Great job!

Congrats guys.. Wow. Very cinematic. Are you allow to say the budget range of the music video?

This is very good. I should've been drinking a Faygo when I watched it.

The ICP have come a long way since they were the Inner City Posse and dropping the "Dog Beats" at Miller MIDI Studios in Warren, MI.

I used to intern there and Joe Bruce's girlfriend at the time used to bring us Hungry Howie's pizza (she worked there and got it for free) whenever they came in to record.

I don't follow their music at all but I've seen a thing or two from them over the years and this is probably the best looking video they've ever done...and one of their better songs.

Julien, how are you enjoying our Michigan winters?

Hi guys,

sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Thanks a lot for the nice feedbacks. Really appreciate. I've seen few works from some of you, and your comments mean a lot to me.

What lenses did you use? Filtration? Also what did you use for the floating debris thats in the outside shots? Looks great.
Some awesome Lensbaby action gentlemen and great locations. AAA+ job.

We used a set of RED PRO PRIMES and a PL mount lensbaby as Tom noticed :) We love the RPP, they are amazing. I wish they'd be lighter though. No filtration (except for NDs). Most of the grading were done by Rob Frenette our DIT with REDCINE-X PRO, the shooting days, on location. His first light was there when we opened the R3D into Premiere CS6. We loved it and kept it all the way down the post-process. We asked Rob to come back to finish his work in After Effects once the edit was locked.

We did tried other looks though, but his first intention, done on set, seemed right to us.

The floating debris, we bought them from a Canadian FX shop, and had Pat Potochick (usually stunt supervisor) and his assistant throw them with fans from a condor. We though about using a post-effect, but we decided to go practical as much as we can, early in the preproduction.

I'm not sure I'm allow to give this info, but it was a pretty decent budget, and moreover Michael Manasseri, our producer, did an amazing job. We didn't document anything during production unfortunately as we focussed on the project itself. Lets say Violent J came to us with some visions and he asked us to make it ours. That is basically what happened and we had a great creative freedom. He was looking for something dark, arty and blurry, and we tried to keep it in that direction.

The cast and location are then all about Michigan. We casted John Forman (aka the Priest) only because he was good and intense in the audition. It's only when I later recommended him to another director that I realized that he also played in an Eminem video (he is opening "When I'm gone").

Julien, how are you enjoying our Michigan winters?

Let say I enjoy Michigan, period. Winters are part of the game. Last one was actually not worst than France, and when you think about the global warming situation, that is very scary.

Thanks again for your feedbacks guys!!

As mentioned on our website, the music video Make It Bun Dem, directed by Tony T. Datis for the artist Skrillex, has also been selected and you can vote for it too. We DPed this one soon after wrapping ICP's, and the 2 videos share pretty much the same crew (both were co-produced by Michael Manasseri). So, good job everyone!
