I have goodreader and files and I can load the manual to the ipad just fine. However, a lot of the images do not show up. Anyone know how to get them to show up or can RED create a manual PDF that will work on the iPad?

I bought a 79 cent PDF reader at THE app store and down loaded the manual
via the included browser, works very good on the iPAd

Hi Mike,

I have the same issue with all the RED documentation viewed on iPad.

Save as isn't available to me in Preview on the Mac for these files.

I did a save as in another PDF app (PDFPen) to no avail, still no images.

Cheers,

Steve

I have the same problem with the build 30.6.0 manual. I think it has been authored in a non-standard PDF format. I was able to get the images to show up in the QS guide by resaving it with PDF-Pen as a PDFX file, but the print and save permissions on the user manual are all locked. I used the demo of PDFKey Pro (a PDF permission cracker) to unlock one page of the manual and it worked, but the full version is 25 bucks and I don't have any other use for it.

Any chance the RED folks could re-save the manual in a different PDF format for the sake of all us iPad users? Or, unlock the print or save permissions (either would work) so that we can solve this ourselves?

Peace,

Jim

That option is grayed out on my computer, but only with the manual. I was able to re-save all the other documents (ie QSG, Menus, etc.) and view them successfully on my iPad. The actual manual, however, prohibits anything except the "Fax PDF" and "Save As PostScript" under the PDF menu. I tried again in Preview to "Save As..." from the file menu and that worked. I added the Quartz filter to save as "Generic PDFX-3" and I can now see the images on my iPad. I think I was having problems with "Save As..." in PDF Pen PRO when I tried earlier.
