So.... is it like... a ladybug? maybe a fly or a beetle? what kind of bug? I hope its not a spider... Regardless i think a whole swat team is a bit excessive don't u? maybe some bug spray.

Hope u guys figure this one out, but until then, its good to have u back jim and best of luck with the bug infestation

Scarlet will be an incredible product of this century no prob for waiting few months more take your time jimm..

Jim,

very good to see you back and posting... glad that all is ok health wise.

In regards to the bug, I've said it before; the Red One helped to change both me and my wife's lives. We were in industries that crashed during the recession and the Red was a major tool in allowing us to follow our passions and jump into an industry that we have always dreamed of working in. For that we are forever grateful.

The few, minor, issues we have ever had with the camera were dealt with right away by your great staff. Because of all of this you guys will always have our trust and support.

Best of luck! We know that you'll solve this issue.

Cheers,

Omar

Welcome Home!

Welcome Home!

Also... thanks to all the have shown concern for my health issues. They seem to be resolved. I'm getting old. But not too old to finish this job right. Any minor legacy I might have depends on EPIC and Scarlet being released properly. :-)

Jim

Great to have you back, Jim !
Everything else, well it's not NOT important to us, but I guess I'm speaking for all of the redusers when I'm saying that it's more important to have you all well and sound. The reduser family is somewhat that.... so welcome home!
It's really weird to not have you around, posting late at night and keeping us from sleeping!

Looking forward to your 3a.m. "Bug squashed" post!

Take care of yourself and your team. We rather have a late camera, than a team that has to retire by the end of the summer because of the workload :D

In RED we trust.

Stephen... you have no idea how complicated this program is. I had no idea how complicated it would be. If you look at what the "other guys" are doing... and they are trained professionals.

Jim

 Hehe. You crack me up, Jim.

Welcome back. I have become sort of serene about waiting for Epic by this point. The bottom-line fact is, there is no other game in town for people like me who want to finish 4K RGB with overcrank and RAW acquisition. Therefore, since Epic's release schedule is out of my control, the best thing IMO is to be sublime and detached about its release, and keep shooting on MX in the meantime. I have always had full faith that you are working around the clock to get these cameras done swiftly and correctly.

Glad you are well, Jim. That's the most important thing. We're paid in full on our stage 2 Epic and we'll take delivery when you say so, no matter how long it takes.

All the support we can give we will give, just tell us what we can do.

Glad to see that you're doing better.

Look on the bright side, after six months after the epic/scarlet are released, nobody would remember the delays. Just the awesomeness of what you guys do.

Thanks for letting us know, we're all still with you and know that if you guys aren't completely 100% satisfied with the cameras, then why should we be? Take your time, make it work and we'll still come back in droves for more:lurk5:

First Im glad youre back and healty.
Second it is better that you find the bugs now then us later. I prefer a bugfree release, so do your thing! Mean while I stay put and hope we soon can read good news.

Thanks for giving us both the good and bad news! Means alot.

As for BUG:

Have you tried the steppin fetzer valve with 3-1 in Oil? Also try 30 weight Ball Bearings and Gauze pads. Its all about ball bearings nowadays. - Fletch

Good to have you back. As much as it pains me... take your time on the bug and get it right, and don't do to much of this if you don't have to - :banghead:

Bug shut down Epic Tattoos temporarily and nobody knows how long it takes debugging time.

Then Epic/Scarlet hardware maker temporarily issue. Also it takes time to find a new and appropriate one.

It that case it always good to have a plan B:

A slight redesign of R1-MX body and motherboard (overhitting issue, HD-SDI 1080p 4444 out issue, add Apple ProRes recording option to fight competition, etc,...)

What about this idea?

R1 is what we have now and it is a still workhorse camera for many customers, rentals, productions...

Something about R1-MX V2 (upgrade option version 2 for existing users, cameras...).

Im behind you guy's all the way

Im behind you guy's all the way

there is no company with your vision all other companies do the same thing and never push the envelope

"The Only Good Bug is a Dead Bug!"

Glad to see that your are back Jim. If you need any cans of raid, I have a couple :)

Until this is sorted out, here is a scene from Starship Troopers about bugs:

Would you like to know more?

Hmmmmmm, I wonder how many of the other camera makers can show off with a list of positive vibe as it is found in this thread. ... and it is growing

Soooo good to see you back Jim, you seem to have dealt with the most important bug (your health), the rest comes in due time.

Peace.
