  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

BeSteady FOUR Thread

BeSteady has my empathy. Being a small business is tough, and they are making painful choices laying off staff to keep the doors open. As a small business owner, you don't get to that point without digging deep in your own pocket first, so I am certain they have already done that. I am extremely grateful that they are persevering instead of pulling a Viewfactor. Those of you grousing about cables should count yourself lucky that you are still getting a stabilizer at all. We take a risk buying from start
I agree, there is no any other option but supporting them but in the meantime they can provide us with the pin outs of all the connectors available...

Friendly Moderator chiming in here...

I've specifically seen one large GB go gloriously wrong with a lot of angry customers camping here for years.
I think it's a good sign that BS is upfront about their situation.
And in that I also see some hope.

the GB I think of (in which I almost took part), the vendor just went black.

Now.
I must remind you that liability claims are not to be posted here
And that reduser (the forum) is not involved in this.

Keep the constructive tone, and I'll let this stay open.

But all the direct anger stuff (if it needs to be said) please let that go into direct mails or on the BS forum.

I can see the need for venting, but here is not the place.

Thanks for the update. Not one that I wished for, but as said, there's nothing more to do here than give our support and look forwards to receiving the unit and cables when the time comes. Hang in the there guys. Someday we'll be laughing about this...

How do I view this update? I have never been given a password. Can Pro or someone from BeSteady please email me the info I need to access this link?

A lot of us are in the same situation Carey and no one at BS reply to PM.
It would be great if someone could make the move for us like this we will be able to view these updates in real time.

Maybe it's better, but I fear it narrows down our chances to get our units.
We had an amazing deal on that BS4. They mostly giving it to us.

If the price to finally have our BS4, is an extra payment. I mean these are cables, we are
looking at a 500$ top top. It's not the end of the world.

This updated post is the first time my confidence in getting the product has been softened.
I prefer to invest more, and not loose the initial investment.

I'd prefer to have a working unit in my hands first (without extras). Only then would I consider investing the extra for those cables.

But yeah, do what you got to do to get those units out BS.

I'm thinking the same thing Ryan. For now, even if it's not ideal, we could make these things work even without these missing cables.
If you think about it, I had to wait a year to received my first EVF when I started shooting on the Red One and we managed to live without it.
The most important now is to get perfectly woking unit in the nature.
We were really patient but it didn't pay so far but I hope that we will get an ROI, later is better than never.

Thanks a lot for your patience and understanding Gunleik.
I know that most of my most here are just full of hate and like a lot of people on this thread I'm having a hard time dealing with the situation.
I also know that if this conversation disappears from Reduser we will never received what we deserved so I'll calm down of the angry comments and try to stay constructive from now on.

We have all considered ourselves Investor's in this project and we knew what the risks were and now it seems we might have to add a little more to the investment in order to finish the project. I for one would be ok with ether making our own cables or ponying up a bit more to have BS buy the cables in bulk and at a better rate than we could one connector at a time. And then be done with this soap opera.
It seems the only way out at this point and if it's true that all our gimbals are just sitting there in pices it would be ridiculous to just walk away at this time.
And hope the units work well for a long time when we get them.

To everyone that who is volunteering to invest more money, congrats on your change of heart, it's quite generous of you, I just can't agree with you. I'm not judging nor am I trying to pick a fight, it's just my opinion.

I want these units shipped out asap, but not until they are tested, tested and thoroughly tested again. And then tested again. And again and again.

If, by the time these units that have passed all QC tests, the cable packs are still way off in the distant horizon, I say ship the units without the cables. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Unless, or course, that bird has a broken wing. Which is what they were sending us the first time around. If they have to send us perfectly working units without cable packs, so be it. We will just have to fight that battle another day. I don't want to add a single feather on top of this very fragile and precarious company right now for fear of collapse.

I wouldn't invest another penny. Not one. I would, however, be open to looking at other companies. That is, if BeSteady is unable to follow through with their commitment in a somewhat timely manner.
