I'm trying to decide which module to purchase and noticed something that seems a little odd. At first I assumed that the only difference between the Base Expander and the Base IO with V-lock would be the V-lock, but this isn't quite the case. Base Expander is missing the USB and a P-Tap Aux Power output. I'm curious why these two connectors are not included, or if perhaps the fact that these modules aren't released yet might mean those details are not finalized? Anyone with knowledge of the way previous modules have been released able to chime in about this? I would appreciate it!

There's P-Tap and Aux out on the Element Technica plates that go on the back of the Base Expander. As for USB, I have nothing for you there.

I am just speculating, but many times a USB port is used as the connection point to allow firmware updates. Not sure if that applies here.

The USB here is only a 5V power out... Not a data port.
Handy to power hdmi video transmitter, small accesories or keep your phone charged... Not a bad idea at all if your phone is used as a camera control device :-)
