is there a listed price yet for the 3ality rig or the neutron rig?
they both look like they would be great with scarlet cinema.

Oh, and by the way- there are THREE batteries powering that unit- not one ...![]()

That is my friend Chris Fawcett prepping for the new Martin Scorsese movie...
Ryan, an available camera like the MX rig would have weighted pretty much the same (though the Alexa is a bit heavier), and for 3D you might need extra batteries to power additional equipment like sync box, remote focus, monitor, etcetera. ( On my last 3D feature I had 4 140 watt batteries on my rig....(Red )

Each Alexa weighs close to twice the weight of the MX.. and also chews through 40% more power per camera, something to remember.
RED ONE MX weighs almost half of an Alexa.. and Epic weighs almost a quarter. And since we are talking current available cameras, you need to add a tethered deck to that Alexa to record something.
video is private and im joking about him being grumpy ..so what if he is or not ...
I am right now :angry::lol:
How much does a codex or ob1 weigh to record raw on alexa?
Can you imagine how much work it would be to go back through a movie like Pirates of the Carribean or Star Wars and redo all the VFX? Maybe it'll be easy in 2020 when they are rereleasing in 4k. But I doubt it.
I think VFX, not aquisition resolution will be the reason for things sticking around in 2k.
It would probably cost 1/4 of the budget of the original film to 're-render' it. So even if the new Pirates is shot on RED but finished in 2k, I would suspect it wouldn't be much higher on the priority list of films to re-master.
