Backorder Update - November 8

Just wanted to drop a few dates for you guys to keep you in the loop on how things are going.

Good news is everything on this list is continuing to be manufactured and assembled and shipped daily at our Irvine California facility within our full capacity with no part shortages.

5" Touch LCD - out of backorder today.

Bomb EVF - Should be completely out of backorder end of next week.

Modular Assault Plate pack - All orders up to last week should be shipped between now and end of november.

DSMC Tactical Top Plate- Should be completely out of backorder end of next week.

REDMOTE - All orders up to last week should be shipped between now and December 15th.

EPIC-X Stage 2 - All eligible customers will be notified by November 18th

DSMC Side Handle - Out of backorder 3rd week of November.

Epic Canon Mount - Opened up a new line to facilitate demand. Shipping a ton of these daily... All orders up to last week should be shipped between now and December 15th.

Jarred, or someone please help> I ordered a Red Scarlet X on Nov 3rd. I paid the deposit and it was debited from my bank.

I ALSO placed my order for a 5 inch touch and SSD as one order> Finally after about 3 days of calling my bomb squad rep, he we went ahead and charged over $2500 to my bank account for these items as the website stated this 5 inch touch was in stock. Then he said it was out of stock after charging my card and processing the payment.

I said if it wasn't in stock, obviously I didn't want to be fully charged for it yet. He said no problem and it would be refunded. It was Not. Now I'm seeing posts saying this is in stock, the site says in stock and my card has been charged. He has not returned answers to my questions and I need answers since my card was charged. I of course want this item. Is this 5 inch in stock?


I'm led on to believe they are out of stock only after being charged in full. Now the site still shows these in stock and your posts in the forum state that as well. What is the status of the 5 inch touch and how do I use the funds that were charged to get this order to me asap. Please have someone reach out to me asap as I've called for days now without a valid response.

This can't be that hard of a thing to figure out from a "bomb squad rep" My email it is under is info@theartistgroup.com

Stupid question, but if Canon mounts will be out of backorder by December 15th does that mean if we ordered August 27th we will expect our mount before December 1st? Sorry, I just have an overseas shoot on December 1 and want to know if I need to consider a back-up plan.

On 10/31 Jarred posted the following over on the Canon Mount thread;

Sorry.. busy day

We expect to get through the grenade of backorders from the first weekend by the end of next week. There will be a lot of shipping notifications going out this week.

For orders placed after that first weekend we expect to catch up to all orders to date by the end of November.

Just remember.. these are all precision machined on CNC machines and have some complicated electro-mechanical bits in them.. they don't just pop out of magic casting ovens in wheelbarrow full quantities so they take a bit of time.

I ordered my mount on the 27th & haven't received my shipping notification either. My gut tells me Jarred's 'first weekend' shipping estimate is not going to happen but my fingers are still crossed! I can hear those CNC's cranking away...

Patience is a virtue. But these backorders are a vice.

But grateful for any effort to get these guys out. And for the communication.

I love what RED stands for & I genuinely applaud RED's open communication to its end users. My frustration comes from expectation management. I need realistic expectations set so I can plan accordingly.

Do you really think that kind of post will do any good whatsoever? They are busting their asses so we can all try to have images 1/10th the quality of DP's who have been shooting for 30 + years. Yeah blah blah blah I'm waiting for my RedMote from my Epic M pack a long time ago... Stop looking at the clock, if you are already working solidly use something else until your stuff is ready man, otherwise they may just not sell to you. I say this with the kindest of nudges. It will be taken care of in time. We all want, I want this, I want that, can you do this, this whole 2/3 inch thing is out of control. Chill, Jarred drinks 8 red bulls a day (joking) and he can deal with the like of us, and all you have to do is wait... Chill out man it will be ok.

Seriously, I always add a month or two to any of the expected dates so I dont feel so bad when its missed,doesnt make a massive difference to me though but still, add time so that when its missed you dont think 'clearly they dont know what they are talking about' take it as, it was a typo...
