  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Backorder Update January 13

Looks like durability testing on the swivel points.

It is probably pretty normal ( and boring ) for manufacturing people to see stuff like this.. but these little rigs never fail to get me excited every time I see them.

I think it's great to see things like this that go into the making of the stuff you use everyday and love. Here's hoping for more BTS shots into the making of our RED gear :))

The Robot is Named Jarred Land... :biggrinjester: :ihih:

No more hanging from a bar in the lens mount or stress testing in stairwells? Those were the best kinds of tests... :)

Robots trying to break robots. It's a viscous battleground down at Red!

Haha, I was thinking the same thing. "I wonder how many cycles that testing bot can handle before it breaks itself." :D

Don't forget the EVF, That was a long one :)

We are on fire over here.. lots of happy people this week. And even more next week.
I'm certainly pretty happy this week! I know there's a lot of QC testing going into the Redmotes right now, but I'm hopeful ill get mine shortly so I can control my Brain and all that fancy stuff ;)

Jarred, Red has a lot of awesome people there. Tell them to keep it up. I've never spoken to anyone manufacturing side, but they deserve a big thank you from me. Also, my Bomb Squad rep is beyond awesome.

Glad to see you all getting your bits one by one... amazing how a few weeks can make such a difference.

I just love stuff like this so thought I would share. This was taken at about the 27,000th cycle.

You should see what they use on the Scarlet and Epic brains.

*Disclaimer ... This is merely a joke and your Epic and Scarlet brains were not subjected to a Home Depot paint shaker.

It was much worse. :wink5:

While I await my allocated Epic to arrive, I have to say I already have (arrived recently in week or so) some of the accessories of it, and one thing that really impressed me is the build quality of this LCD. I have a Panasonic BTLH80 and in no way it compares in built quality to this one. I think that what you guys are doing with the QC is going to pay of immensely in the long term perception of the Red Brand. Haven't turned the LCD on yet, but in terms of build quality its way up there with the best on the market. The way it should be as Red cements itself as "the" leader of professional digital cinema!

This is great to hear! Congrats to all of those happy people from this past week! Hopefully I'll get to be one of those happy people this coming week.

I love this!!

It makes me fill safer to take my RED gear were I take it.

Oh, and I do live to see the BTS of how is done and how is tested, in fact I want to see more, a lot more.

Oh and another thing I WANT A FULL VISIT OF THE NEW MANUFACTURING HEAD QUARTERS... ;)
