Sitting down with ARRI, Spanish cinematographer José Luis Alcaine AEC (“The Skin I Live In”, “Volver”) talks about the western short film “Strange Way of Life” (“Extraña forma de vida”), directed by Pedro Almodóvar. The film was captured with the ALEXA 35 and ARRI Signature Prime lenses and premiered at Cannes Film Festival 2023. “With the ALEXA 35, the color performance was very good, as well as the contrast and the definition,” Alcaine says. He also shares why—in his opinion—a movie should have a lot of focus precision and detail and reveals what he wants for viewers watching his movies.
