Even if i don't get it on time. It would be awesome to rent one. Hopefully there will be available Scarlet W for rent by then.

I'll be much less impatient for future upgrades and such because I'll already have a Red ha. I'll likely wait for upgrades until the demand has died down, but for now since I'm coming from 5D3 Raw the SW is a whole different league, and after having the pleasure of DPing on a film with an epic dragon I'm hooked. Sure I can still shoot a good film with what I have already (and I do shoot paid projects all the time with it! My old cam has earned its cost like 20 times over), but I'm really ready to move up. Also since Reds are relatively rare in Indiana, I find the mere presence of having the known brand name to change the attitudes of some of the people on set (for the no budjet projects). Ridiculous, I know, but producers take me more seriously when I have a Red available and student assistants get super hyped and show more motivation because of it. Also creating great images is a plus and gets me hyped.
Not complaining in the slightest, I think the real problem is that I like these cameras too much!
Not sure why people are booking shoots with a camera they don't have. Plan on a rental (or your current camera) and if your Raven or W shows up, great! Ya'll are just screwing yourselves by making plans around a production and delivery schedule you can't see and don't control. The team at RED are doing a great job of keeping us up to date on things, but don't try to hold them accountable for your own lack of planning. /RANT
My Rep just emailed me today saying my 4.7 inch was allocated. FYI I do not have a SW brain yet and I ordered it on Dec 11 to give you an idea where they are on those orders, seems like they're just about caught up on those.
What do you mean the price is different?I'm dying for it !
Although I'm disappointed that the price from when we book and when we're allocated are that much different.
