  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

April shipping update

Anyone get their 4.7inch touch allocated yet? Jarred said they would be caught up today but I've had an order in since Dec11 and haven't heard anything. Unless they meant none were being allocated until today, in that case I will shush. I'm very excited about how small the base expander is, and the skulls are fun, too bad I'll be the only one looking at them most of the time.

1 month is highly doubtful, IMO.

hi! well i ordered mine the next day the raven was announced because initially i only had the brain, kept the order though just incase and i have not heard of any allocation on it yet, so 9/25-26 i think my order was.
 
I'm starting to get very nervous. I took Jarreds' update at face value and made plans accordingly. I'm going to sleep much better once I receive the email. Fingers crossed.

you might have better luck jumping on a used epic dragon right after nab, getting use of it for your project and then selling it when your scarlet comes in.

also, if you put a deposit down, and get a bombsquad rep, there is someone recently that said they were actually able to pick it from a local dealer that their bombsquad recommended and i think set up the deal, though they had a late time stamp i think they are getting it very soon if it hasnt happened already. i was considering calling that local dealer!

That was how it happened for me. Great timing and great customer service. I put my deposit down on a Scarlet-W V-Lock Bundle pretty late in the game, I think around the first week of February. It happened to coincide with discussions Red was having with official vendors about allocating them bundles and brains to sell so they could start taking pre-orders...at least here in Texas. The day after I place my order. I got the call from my bomb squad rep, they set me up with the vendor, canceled my Red Store deposit, then I placed my order with the vendor. This happened because I was able to get to the front of the vendors pre-order line.

Your only chance at a Scarlet-W, aside from renting, in the next month is to contact a Bomb Squad rep and have them get you connected to the closest Red dealer to your location and hopefully get close to the front of the line. A lot of vendors are getting there order in the next two weeks, so if you are close you can pick your camera up. That's what I am doing. Good luck Guilherme.

that's incredible and going to make a lot of people jealous, including me, maybe we should be looking into cheap flights to texas!
i wonder if they have any raven pkgs???
it's a little crazy that they are allocating v-lock pkgs to venders to sell them to people that got in real late to the game, when a ton of us ordered them in the first few minutes and havent got even an allocation yet, but good on you, i hope it works out!

heh heh seriously though we are assembling those little puppies as fast as we can and should be out of the woods with the 4.7" LCDs between now and the weekend.

If I were to speculate, which is all we really do here anyway, I would say Red is looking at the Vendor as an important customer and giving them some level of priority. From what I have heard, Red was not great at communicating and prioritizing vendors as early as they would have liked, they are making up for it. So I, and others, are benefiting from Red making good with vendors, which is the right thing to do. Again though, I am purely speculating here.

I´m from Portugal and my rep is from the UK, I talked with him and he estimated 6 weeks, but it can take longer...
I had a Scarlet Dragon that I sold last year, and I miss her som much!!

Go ahead and share some footage from your Scarlet-W guys! There´s little to nothing to see...

it's probably true, and they have no argument from me.
same when i had a preorder from 3 places for the first 5D, then i was able to walk into a small boutique place that just got 2 in and i bought one. everyone i knew was still waiting for their bandh orders to come in.

And Jordan, I know it doesn't benefit you but there are two months of pre-orders that don't have to worry about my order in there way now. So the more people who grab from vendors the better for a lot of future Red customers, Scarlet-W and Raven alike. And it helps with relationship building from Red to Vendor, and Vendor to customer. This is a good thing.

agreed. everyone should go to a vender if they can!
doesnt benefit me as my order is in the first minutes of announcement, im the jealous one!
 
I have a Dec 10 time stamp for SW brain only within 35 minutes of announcement, are you guys saying it would be possible to get that brain in the next two weeks if I switched to a dealer and picked it up at Abelcine Chicago? I'm about a 4 hour drive away but that would be totally worth it!

AbleCine in Chicago rocks - they might ship it to you so you don't have to drive. I switched my Scarlet-W order from RED to them because RED Bombsquad suggested it and mentioned that it would be the fastest way for me to get my allocation.
