We are pleased to see our REDCODE patents withstand another challenge.

To be clear, as I mentioned before, this never really was Apple vs. RED. It has always been APPLE + RED, and this was all part of the process defining how we work together in the future.

RED integration with Apple’s METAL framework for realtime R3D playback is coming along well and the work that the two teams are doing together is exceeding expectations. We are very excited for the new Mac Pro and the new XDR pro display and the power they bring to the entire RED workflow.

Well that is good news.

Metal and r3d sounds excellent.

exciting times ahead ! great job to everyone involved with this - pushing forward at making powerful tools reach the hands of many

As it should be. RED and Apple were together from day one, Jim being a big supporter and fan of the Mac.

When Apple retooled FCPX, it really took the world by surprise. But they had a reason and knew what needed to be done. Michael Cioni was an early advocate and did a great job explaining why he thought it was a smart move. Both companies have similar pedigrees in they are disruptive by nature. Make it so, number one.

Thank you for sharing these awesome news Jarred!
Everything's lining up for a more streamlined workflow :)
Couldn't be happier!!!

Great news. Congratulations.

It will be interesting to see how this will specifically affect non-linear editing programs on the new Mac Pro.

Very excited about this, thank you Jarred and the entire Red team for all your hard work.

When Apple retooled FCPX

I wish I could tell the story about FCPX+R3D :) heh heh heh.

But yes... Apple has always been at the forefront of supporting what we do at RED.. even when we really didn't matter.

Jarred,

Do we see Metal-Support from RED as soon the new MacPro is released?

WOw, nice

Feel like a celebratory Komodo reveal is in order.

That is good news for RED and BMD, congratulations to both of you.

Very much looking forward to the Metal updates and seeing what you can do with the new hardware!
