OK...now I can start doing something. My SCARLET DRAGON arrived last week, but I couldn't mount it because there's a supply-chain problem somewhere that's put the DSCM Platform Pack on hold. Scrounging around the used and new markets, I finally found a stash of 19mm kit and look forward to getting the camera up on my CineHD 30. Once I do that, I can start shooting. Once I do that I can start posting.

At least the waiting part is past.

HD H264 from Resolve . Tiny bit of sharpening / Noise reduction. plus a quick contrasty saturated grade .

What are the minimum compression ratios for each resolution's highest respective frame rate? I can't seem to find this information readily available anywhere.

I know it's been widely reported that DRAGON compression is much improved compared to MX, but getting into 16:1 seems ridiculous. Can anyone upload some 5k high-speed R3D snips (a second or so) to take a look? Id appreciate it hugely.

There are no half-Ks on my SCARLET DRAGON.

The epic does half K resolutions, right? Or am I completely misinformed. They're listed under the recording time calculator under cinematography tools.

EPIC (DRAGON and M-X) do have half-K resolutions. SCARLET DRAGON has only full K resolutions.

Why? In 5K it's still about a 50% higher bitrate than Prores HQ 1080p, so its hard to imagine it would look any worse than Prores when downscaled and viewed in HD...
