I saw someone else post something similar and thought it was a great idea especially for some of us starting out with grading. I'm grading my latest short film and am interested in seeing other interpretations by some experts here. I've posted 3 shots with my own grade below with the link to the R3D for each.

Also feel free to critique my grade.

Shot 4 (recently added). Added this because it's the toughest one to grade for me because of the harsher lighting.

Just quick trials. Do not know the plot...

PS: Done within full range, so may look dark in Rec.709...

Bob, like the colour , but would have to say the I also really like the reframing, it's much better. I think that we are VFX artist as well, you probably felt what i did The composition was unbalanced. The lighting works much better here to focus or direct the eye, and not leave it to wander the image and the vacant areas behind. The way the light was set up makes it a bit incongruent with the liner fan. Goes to show how grading is so important.

Hurcan,

I like the added color in your best so far.

While I agree with you on the framing issues, you are forgetting that this is a moving image, not a still. This particular shot is a dolly push. Having said that I really like the grade and the vignette helps focus on the subject.
