  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Yeah, I know. It is the reason we opened up third-party dev of hardware for DSMC2 line, so for more options for people, if not RED.
 
This hits the spot for many one man operators / small production companies. Pro res, HDMI out, audio in etc. Very versatile camera with the option to shoot 5K REDCODE RAW. Wow. This will get a ton more people into the ecosystem. I imagine this moment in time was high on the list for RED. Meanwhile Terry V is drowning his sorrows at Beehans :-)

Some may not have the resources to upgrade/ trade in to Weapon MG but don't mind dropping 12K to have a second unit. Lot of merit in your suggestion Alex. It will add to the overall volume of sale. A little holiday cheer for all Red owners.

Why not making only one input for timecode? (like Redvolt Expander)

Don't worry Kemalettin.. We hear that alot. Some people just don't like HDMI ports. But like it or not, Most of our customers use them. We see the logs from all the cameras back to the RED ONE that we get back for upgrades, and we can see the ratio of what ports get used the most... hence.. why there is an HDMI port.

im with you, id rather get a few v-mounts and keep it one tight module.

More flexibility as you can use any module on back, not just V-Lock

Not quite as light as RAVEN, the interchangeable mount and underlying mechanicals make it so.
 
Sorry if this has already been addressed, but will there ever be any Scarlet MX cameras sold as BT?
 
On nofilmschool it's written 4.5k FF up to 120fps, is it right? I think it's a mistake. Though is it possible to shoot 4.5kFF 100fps 12:1?

Posted earlier in this thread the three new accessories that went live for a la carte. Before, only part of RAVEN bundles...

There are benefits to EACH of the expander options. For me, I may be keeping one of each on hand, takes about 30 seconds to change and radically changes the footprint, and options the camera offers. I'd say, however, 80% of the time I'll be rocking the Redvolt expander as my main configuration... The new V-Lock expander is a very nice new offering as well that I think I need to try in my Ronin setup ASAP as the Weapon is so light, I need a little more back weight to offset the lens/mattebox in the front.
