Yes it can, it can even do 4K ProRes and Raw at the same time. But for clients that just want to walk away with ProRes you can just record ProRes and nothing else. Its all about giving your client what they want at the end of the day.

But you could record the r3d´s just for in camera playback no?

Difficult to tell which is which. I have seen a lot bigger differences when doing the same with two identical cameras / same brand. So I think this test is pretty cool as it very much shows that proress Weapon and Amira can be shot together and intercut with not to much stress if lightning conditions are fairly good. which is a good thing.

Based on the red coloured chip on the left pic being excessively saturated, which in my experience happens with RED (ironically). Though it could be my monitor (viewing on a regular ol' retina). Left also looks darker (which again suggests RED). The blacks look truer and less patina on the left, too (again, in my experience, ALEV footage often has a tinge of green/brown in the lows).

So for the client needs you described, couldn't you record prores and r3d in camera, deliver the prores and do on-set playback with the r3ds?

seems like a pain for your media manager just to do on set play back off r3d for its sole purpose of recording it lol? can't we just get a proper video village proxy recording off the hd sdi or something?

The colors I do not care so much about. Alexa and Dragon has been matched in colors many times before. But what would be interesting to see it how they behave in pixels 1:1 side from proress 2k with low exposure. I have some hopes that Weapon proress will kick ass in that domain. As dragon 6k recorded as proress 2k compared to amira 2k.

I'd need to see this in prores 444, also it looks like there is a "wobble" (things are going in and out of focus within a plane) in the focus on both shots.
