So here is a picture for my minimum config Epic. I don't want to tear it down any further than this.

Does anyone know of any cut foam that matches this? To me it seems very logical for this to be the 'base config', as this kinda matches how my base config was on my Red MX, and I bought the Innerspace case for that. Unfortunately, I looked at Innerspaces Epic cases and it's not like this, plus they are now over $700, while I paid like $500 for their Red case. I'd love to pay less, as I dont need a case that big, just big enough for this.

Pelican case w/o foam may set you back $125 or so. I got a quote for custom-cut foam for about another $125. So yeah, for a smaller, basic case, you might be able to swing $250-$300.

Edit: although, if you search for custom cut foam inserts, there are quite a few results to be found.

You need to get some foam routered. We use plastazote foam which is slightly softer for our kit but hard wearing.

That oak barrel your Epic's standing on looks like it would make a great and unique case for the camera @!

Shawn, is there any particular reason why you are set on custom cut foam?

I ask because I was a die-hard custom-cut foam advocate... until I snagged a set of padded dividers for my Pelican 1510. I'm no longer locked in to one specific foam design - I can reconfigure the cases as I need for certain projects - whether it's camera, batteries, FF and a few lenses in one case, or a bit more gear in two cases. Honestly, man, it's a super cost effective solution that's versatile and protects your gear well.
