  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

"Alleged" SCAM ARTIST LIST - Add yours here.

Just to be clear for google, there is a real Tom Doran who had his name co-opted by an alleged scammer on this site. The real Tom Doran obviously is not the person who used that name on this site.
 
Sean Mundy (fake version) is a scammer. Got this response from the real Sean Mundy who's email address is one letter different:

Hi Daniel,


unfortunately you are being scammed, I've been getting emails about someone doing this all day, really sorry man, but good on you for making sure you weren't being scammed! I contacted the webmaster of Fred Miranda (where I assume you spoke to the person impersonating me? That's what the other people emailing me have been saying) about deleting the account, and I saw that they did.


Let me know if you hear from the other "me" haha... really sorry again!

Hi

I am the real Tom Doran, and I'm deeply sorry for anyone who has been scammed by this fake person. I don't use reduser, so I guess that may be why he/she used my information. It only came to my attention a few weeks ago that someone had been using my identity. If anyone has had any dealings with the fake Tom Doran please get in contact with me. As you can see I have now set up an account, so at least I will be somewhat of a presence here.

It's sad how members on this forums can intentionally sabotage your account. I have screenshots of these two sending me PM's saying that they will work together to get me banned since I wont sell my merchandise at their prices.

Dude, quit while you're ahead. Also if you are going to edit pm's try not making them so ridiculous.
 
Edit PM's? How is that even possible. Just because you got caught in your lies doesn't mean you should sound ridiculous trying to defend yourself.

Exactly. Reverse image search. If the photos are on the web elsewhere there better be good reason.
 
I was recently scammed by "Tom Doran" aka George Carson/Alex Martinez and whatever other aliases this person goes by.

I contacted PayPal, but because I sent the payment as 'friends or family' (like this person asked me to, so that he could avoid the fees), there was nothing that could be done. I filed a complaint through the FBI Internet Crime division, I contacted local authorities in an attempt to get a subpoena to track the seller through PayPal and the info he provided them. It's been a month and nothing has been done.

So this morning, I sent an email to tomdorandp@gmail.com and he responded! Below is the conversation:

Me: Still haven't received my refund.. I know you probably don't give a shit that you ruin peoples lives, but in the end, you will get what's coming to you. People like you end up in very bad places. I hope you consider being a decent human and refund the money you stole from me. Even a simple response would be admirable, but I doubt that's going to happen.

Tom: Send me $60 as a personal payment to my new paypal and then I will then I will let PayPal know that I scammed you so I can which I will call them and tell then so they can refund you.

Me: I have already called PayPal many times. Because you had me send it as 'friends or family' they will not issue a refund. The only way I get my money back is if YOU send it to me. I really need this money.. What's your new PayPal email?

Tom: Well to be honest I am very sorry for what I done. I am getting $2000 Monday and I will refund you as promised. I am very sorry Jesse for what I done. I already know you cant get justice for what I done and you cant send me to jail because I would have been in jail already.But heres the problem. I cant get that $2000 unless I pay off a $60 fee. If I pay the fee today I can go ahead in pick up the money at Regions Bank on Monday then I can go ahead and send you your money back the same day.
I always think about not refunding you and others. But I can only refund you. The other people sent me like over $3000. If I refund you this week I will refund the others the 3rd week of April.
You have my word and I promise you I will return your money to you Monday. But if you dont send me $60 then I cant get thr $2000 to refund you.

Me: I just spoke with PayPal and their dispute department. They were kind enough to open a case, even though you asked me to send it as 'friends or family'. They said my documentation and email proof was enough for them to work with. I'm hoping you will do the right thing here, so I will expect the refund by 11AM Monday. They said that if you don't respond, they will automatically issue me a refund by April 6th.

Tom: Jesse I am not going to give you that refund until I get the $60 so I can get the $2000. All the buyers made a dispute but it won in my favor. You disputed that you have not made authorization. PayPal will check IP address that time frame you sent gift and will check to see if you have used that same IP constantly. the agreement on PayPal states that you do not send as a gift unless its a gift.
All I have to do is call PayPal to cancel that dispute or even make a comment on notes. It dont matter if you was to screenshot the emails I give you. .
Just send the $60 as goods or services too that email I gave you so I can pick that money up Monday and refund you.

Tom: $60 to that emaol by tomorrow or your money will be forever gone.
Enough Said.
Because I want my $2000 and have no problem refunding as soon as I get it.
No $60 before 1:45 EST = No Money for you.




 
If it were me, I would trace his IP address, go to his house, and beat him senseless =).

I bought an Iscorama Pre-36 from "Colbern Rae" and his email that I paid to by paypal is jrc528491@gmail.com. He has now deleted his email so I can't get in contact with him. The name that comes up from the mail is John Cleary and he's supposed to live in Australia.

I did not receive the correct lens so please watch out for this guy. I'll contact Paypal and see if they can help me out.

unfortunately I found this thread too late. I purchased a red scarlet from (Mr. Shavaughn Melvin) the above mentioned person on March 27, 2016..and after emailing him...sending messages via paypal ...leaving a message here for him and calling him...not a word from him...before the sale...several emails back and forth..i've notified paypal so hopefully will get my money back and then I'll buy a raven which is what I should have done in the first place. buyer beware of this guy..a con artist
 
Approx 2.5 years ago Ibrahim Abdulkarim Hassan sold us a Arri 8R that was reported stolen a year after we bought it. He is currently awaiting trial on felony charges for this and other scams, other then that he seems like a nice guy. Why was the other post about him locked? I was going to change my previous endorsement.

Fred Salaff at FJS International is a scammer.

He stole 15,807 euro from me on an Alexa Mini that was never delivered.

None of his people reply to me and calls are not picked up or voice mails returned.

I have filed complaints with the FL Attorney General and FBI.

Fred claimed to have a medical condition in his last email months ago.

Buyer beware.
