Great progress on integrating Speedgrade much more seamlessly into a Premier workflow. I was hoping Adobe would get there soon, but I didn't quite expect you'd manage it this quickly.

You can take your AE Comp and bring it into Adobe Media Encoder and get all the export options from there. There are DCP plugins for AME available and it supports Mpeg2-Bluray.

Thanks! We had this vision from early on and are very excited to be able to bring this to you!

Is this an Adobe thing or an Apple thing?
Awesome, I guess I need to get some AME training (lmao ... took me a minute to realize that AME = Adobe Media Encoder). You can take your AE Comp and bring it into Adobe Media Encoder and get all the export options from there. There are DCP plugins for AME available and it supports Mpeg2-Bluray.

I noticed that in CC, and I am liking that AME frees me up to continue working on another comp.
BTW, what panels Speedgrade supports now?
Hey Jake,
Speedgrade definitely supports the Tangent Element, and the mapping is excellent, IMO...
I've been using the Element for the past year on Resolve V9, and although the mapping is not bad, it leaves much to be desired. After a week on Resolve V10Beta, I have to say that although there have been improvements, it's nothing worth writing home about. I imagine it's just too much of a conflict of interests for BMD considering their panel.
In any event, Tangent Element works great with Speedgrade and the mapping is very well thought out. I never really gave Speedgrade a chance until they released CC with support for the Element, and now I'm glad I did. It's a nifty little program and I think Adobe is going to build it into something really great in due time.
Hoep this helps.
Both, but mostly Adobe. They need to start using BM or AJA with Speedgrade. That is unless my information is out of date

Now when can we get RAW keyframing for R3Ds and CR2s so we can ramp exposures, colors, etc, like footage, instead of still frames? :ihih: Or have I missed this update?
I agree with Jake... lack of BMD video output makes Speedgrade not even an option. It's impossible to do real critical and accurate color correction without proper monitoring. I couldn't even consider it if it had only AJA support (because, like Jake, I have BMD hardware already, as do most colorists these days) and most color grading needs to be done in Resolve (it's what's requested and/or expected). But if there was BMD support I would at least consider it and give it a shot, especially if I was brought a PP project to color correct.
I'm really surprised proper video output is not included in this release. That should have been the first thing Adobe focused on, even before Direct Link.
That said, it looks like a lot of nice upgrades in this upcoming release. Glad to see Adobe releasing quicker upgrades than before.
I guess that there's one question that we all must have on our minds.
Does this mean that new color science behind DRAGONCOLOR and DRAGONGAMMA are ready to go?
DRAGONCOLOR and DRAGONGAMMA will likely come out in October, we still are making sure it covers all the basis. Right now people with the Dragons are using beta builds with an Dragonfied RG3 and RC3 , and that beta build will probably roll out to the public shortly after IBC.
