Some of you may remember back in the day when I started DVXuser, Pete Abel and his brother Rich @ AbelCine was one of the first companies to take a chance and really step up and support what we were doing to help filmmakers both big and small. I learned alot from those two about customer support, and they always were there to give a hand as we pushed forward over the years.

I am happy to announce that almost 15 years later, the relationship continues to grow as Abel now officially becomes an Authorized US Reseller for all RED products.

Nice

Wow. That's actually really awesome. Freaking Burbank man. Glass, gear, expendables. Everything :)

Great partners are so important for growth. You are both quality companies that take great care of your customers! This is a brilliant step...congrats!

The Abel guys are terrific, with one of the best rental departments in LA. Good people.

Took them 7 years?

Can we be honest here?

Jarred,

Great news overall. Abel has been a valued resource for many years.

Will this affect the status of the RED New York store?

Fabulous choice Jarred!

Since the early 80's, when they kept an Arri-S and Aaton LTR running smoothly for me, integrity has always been the first word that comes to mind when I think of Peter and Rich. They have built their company with it.

Abel is a great company, I rent from their facility here in New York all the time. Great move on both parts, congrats to both parties.

DVXuser has been around since 2002/2003 and that's when Jarred is talking about first forming the relationship. And he did say "almost 15 years later". He's not talking about RED's existence in this case, but rather DVXuser which in reality got the ball rolling for a lot of this if you think about it or were browsing the boards back then.

Here's a fun blog post from AbelCine from April 7th 2006 that's a fun read:
"Inside the DVXuser.com Phenomenon"

Heh. DVXuser was really awkward that first year, but it turned into a fantastic and massive community. Same could be said for REDuser at this point.
