  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

A taste...

I agree about the orienatation, looks like it could be a battery plate to me.

I'm going to go with a steroscopic mount for scarlet. Upper right is scarlet. The holes are just access to the screws holding camera to mount.

Sure looks like the bottom slides to connect to something. May be a scarlet accessory. A cool one at that.

Wouldn't there be TWO Scarlets mounted on top if that were the case?

Or do you need two of these and they attach to each other?

I'll start to puzzle in PS now.

Also we would need some more elements.

Perhaps...Who's to say cinema is the last word? Maybe it says Red Digital Cinema Scarlet like the logo. And h'm assuming that the second scarlet is off camera to the right. If they showed us both that would kind of ruin the subtlety.

Scarlet Render Speculation

Scarlet Render Speculation

Okay, I'll have go at speculating.

Scarlet and Epic have gone modular. The camera on the right is the monstro S35 sensor and analog to digital electonics module. The other module on the bottom is Scarlet's electronics, this is where REDCODE compression takes place and where the mic inputs and HDMI, LCD output sockets are. What you can't see is the inputs and outputs on the left.

When docked into the Epic module, the system will output at 5K. When docked to the Scarlet module, the system will output at 4K resolution. This because Epic's electronics is beefed up and can handle the increased resolution. When the DSMC grip is attached on the right side of the camera instead, the system will output high res stills and 2K video.
