  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

A taste...

Might be a SCARLET docking station with power charger and connection to easily download REDCODE files directly into your computer. Also, it could have a built in drive to automatically download to (similar to the 320GB REDDRIVE).

The more I look at it, the more the shape is a little M. C. Escher. I can't get a grasp on the shape of the thing...

Just follow some of the lines on it. It's very peculiar.

You guys sure picked the right part to confuse us with...

I agree with Casey. Because of it's reflective surface it has a plastic look to it which is not what I would think Scarlet would be made of.

Either way, this is killing me! Keep up the great work.

Not exactly sure what this is... :-)

I'm gonna guess that the actual Scarlet is the part plugged in at the right hand side of this image... Looks like the parts separate there and the bottom portion is either a charger/dock or a mount of some sort.

The bottom part certainly doesn't look like something that anybody would want to hold (like part of the camera body).

Wow, you went out on a limb there. I thought it was the one on the left myself.

yeah well the comment was largely in response to the guess of it being a solid state/hard drive attachment. If it's the back of the unit, it's sticking out awfully far to be something you want to be there when you're filming.

Right now, Jim and Jarred are having the time of their life :)

I like the thought of the lower part being a docking station.

What I find alarming though is that not even Jim seems to know what it is. What sort of leader style is this? I thought we were beyond the scam status...

Not exactly sure what this is...

Hint... it is not part of a matte-box or shoulder mount.

Jim

Maybe they put two pieces together, just to fuck with us :-)

Thanks, Jim. but it doesn't help much more than...

Hint 2...it is not a part of a fridge or microwave oven. :clown2:

Is Jarred done with his photography training? How difficult it could be to frame the thing properly?

Jarred, you have to help Jim. He is running out of hints. So, take one step back, move the lens to your right a bit, and click the little button on the top again. We will tell you when you get it right.

Come on guys its obviously a render not a photograph! Look at the step gradients!

Can't wait…

Jim

Could be a blown up renderings detail that also shows and simulates a plastic surface of Scarlet's body.

Maybe this 90 degree CCW turned photo tells you something more

because the RED/Scarlet logo should be (by design unwritten rules) always turned into direction of shooting object.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

It looks like an upgrade on my George Foreman toasted cheese sandwich maker. I can't wait to have this puppy in my kitchen.
