  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

A single RedVolt in the XL Module?

This is new to me as I thought the single REDvolt was for charging purposes while the camera was on AC rather than providing power. Live and learn.

I'm not 100% sure it is the case, but it's implied from that photo with Peter Jackson and the Weapon XL module:

Nowhere that I've read explicitly confirms it, but I bet a lot of people (myself included) would benefit from being able to pop in a single RedVolt here and there.
 
After giving my memory a little time to recollect, I do remember that there is the ability to use 1 REDvolt... there is only one slot that is useable for connecting and thus no ability to use two REDvolts, only one REDvolt at a time or 1 XL.

The RED NYC store told me no when I asked. It doesn't seem like there's a clear answer on this...

Only the WEAPON XL module can use a single battery not the EPIC/SCARLET version...

Yes I remember I got the camera running with a volt in the XL module. But it´s possibly even quicker, believe it or not, way to fry redvolts than using them the normal way :)
