4K Delivery... get ready.

Ok, so I get the redray box with 4k delivery capability...what am going to watch the 4k image on? The 25k Sony tv I have in my living room?

There is a $1500 to $1800 50" UltraHD TV already shipping in China. I think the prices will plummet in 2013.

Does it also output a 1080p image I can monitor today?(and perhaps the next 3 years while I wait for 4k tv/projectors becoming affordable).

My guess is outputting at 1080p will be possible, but like I said... I think 4k TVs will get cheaper much faster than people expect.

my guess to ETA of Nov 30 announcement is 5:30to 6:30 PST... end of business day on the West Coast. Guesstimate is wholly unscientific and based solely on the time of last year's Nov 30 announcement.

It does say 1080p at the very top, but I think that may be because the site doesn't allow you to select 4k right now when adding a listing. The 50E780U is a 4k TV.

This link lists those items as UHD....I think it's safe to say there is too much mis-information or bad translation in all the info to know anything just yet for sure.

TED S. Did say they were not going to talk so much anymore and give out too much because competitors were paying too much attention to what Jim was doing with RED. Now that Sony blew their wad first, don't be surprised if RED makes some adjustments for a late release time today at best! I think they maybe even have known about this and anticipated it by SONY. I think RED will deliver a blow to the not so impressive SONY release guys. Either way, Jim & Co. design a much more robust system and it will compliment RED content much better to industry professionals even with the relationships in place. My money is still on RED to be the UNDISPUTED HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD IN THE 4K CAGE!!!!!

At least its big fun to see Sony "react" that way. They sell a 4K TV and due to lack of content and playback, they create a 4K Player (would like to see whats in there, as PS4? A small PC with a BMD card?) out of nothing for free to keep sales going. Crazy stuff...

Yep, looking forward to RED RAY announcements. However, it was said to be 2009 and beside the fact we saw photos from manufacturing we have no more info yet. And its end 2012, so its definetly due.
