2012 Price Adjustment reminder ( and some extensions )

I'm falling in love with the dual battery module.. the quad is great for long durations but the dual just feels good... and hot swapping batteries back and forth is pretty addictive. Im going to need to find some beta testers soon :)

Hi Jarred ,

Any chance for a Asia Tester in Singapore ?

Happy New Year..2012

My money has been on the dual battery module since the day it was announced... I think it will become an absolute essential piece of kit. No cables, small form factor, hot swapping capability, and perfectly mated for the go-anywhere functionality of both Epic and Scarlet. Some will still feel more comfortable with the longer runtime of the bricks, but once those quad chargers get out to the wild it won't be an issue any longer.

I'm happy to beta test the heck out of these if you're looking for someone hungry to put these through their paces... but I already know it's going to be my favorite module. :)

I agree, but the main benefit of the Brick plates for me is having power to run AKS, like monitors or motors or whatever.
Would be good to have something in that vein built into the body, which is what I guess the Pro IO will handle?

Thanks for the extension guys... Means I might order a side handle. And the dual batt module :p

I know they're working on a solution... in fact, I bug Jarred about it every time I see him. It's really important. I think it was intended to be a part of the pro battery modules but technically ended up not being possible. I would vote for a separate module over integration into the Pro I/O to keep things small and light, but either way they have to know it's a hole in their system. I hope to see something about this soon.

There's been far too little beta testing going on in Norway, lately...

Totally can't wait for the dual module. I think it will be perfect!

Hope you've included a D-tap output so we can drive other accessories! :)

Altho XL batteries won't fit in the dual I'm sure size / weight will be perfect with EPIC / Scarlet

Would also love to have DTAP or similar on those battery modules.

Jarred, any chance Stage EPIC X could have the option to receive a dual instead of getting the quad by default ?
I know I'd chose the dual if it was possible. Hopefully it will be if RED can save a small amount by sending a cheaper module... and if not a nightmare for the bomb squad.

So sorry to see the Nikon Mount and Redmote Pro have fallen off the table and into oblivion.

I was really looking forward to this combination, and the outlook seems to be getting dimmer by the day...

Jarred,

If my maths are correct, the price for the Al Canon Mount package will move to $16,565, rather than $15,965.

The Ti Canon Mount and Ti PL Mount should also be $600 more expensive. The price increase for any of those packages should be $2,550 instead of $1,950.

At least, if the packages will still contain the Side Handle and the Touch LCD 5"...

Am I the only one here seeing this ?

I placed an order for an Epic X on the 16th of Dec and got the automated email confirmation of the order but as yet no other contact from Red Europe, I just wanted to make sure that I would still be paying the original prices?

Thanks Jarred, just got another Epic-X...it seems there is no such thing as too many cameras :)

I have a Willie Nelson/Merle Haggard/John Anderson music video I'm directing. Would love to test it out with the Scarlet. Scarlet is such a great camera for 99 percent of my shooting needs... we have been running her pretty hard and have no hiccups.
