  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

18-85mm

This lens definitely looks bad-ass. Will there be one or two at NAB to play with?

Any chance we can get a glimpse of the prime set?

Just kidding. You are a master of the tease, aren't your Jarred. And it arrives on the same day as news of the Optimo Rouge.

I'll be interested in checking this one out in April.

That Optimo Rouge would be 10X more appealing to me if it were a 15-40mm instead of a 30-80mm. ...maybe it's just me though, but I'm assuming Angenieux doesn't want to cannibalize their current 15-40mm. I'm curious to see what the Rouge brings to the table. Or if it's going to be a "cheap" version of their 28-76mm.
 
I imagine both will be at NAB, although good luck on seeing them side by side for some time!
 
Angenieux makes great zooms... it is terrific that our customers have so many new choices. I hope that RED is in some small way responsible for getting the other companies to step up the pace.

I have owned 9 Sony cameras. Betacam was a way of life for years. I consulted with Sony in the development of DVCAM line.

I'm no patriot chauvinist, but it gives me great pleasure to see a bunch of California camera and computer jocks kicking Sony's butt. And I will happily retire all those Sonys when I receive my camera next week (hint)

Nice looking lens.
