The difference is that the 17-50 has a 144mm front diameter, while the 18-50 has a 114mm front. There's nothing to step down to, so no room for a bellows.
Jeff, that is correct but Clayton was asking about the 143mm bellows back filter stage which I couldn't find in Arri's catalog even with all the help from kind folks at AbelCine. I still have the 138 - 114mm bellows that I loved using with RPP's but is now sitting in my case.
The 143mm back clamp fits on the 17-50 nice, though I did put on a sliver of tape around the edge of the lens to insure the solid grip.... it's because I put it on the sketchy contraptions like this

Love the use of the macbook, Peter...
I needed a quick back-fill for the whisky - and man gotta do what man gotta do...
But seriously, I am going to look for a director/producer crazy enough to let me shoot entire feature on this lens alone to prove how amazing and versatile it is...
I can't wait for the 50-150 RPZ... Together with the Duclos 11-16 one would get the coverage from 11mm to 150mm in three compact and lightweight zooms...
:sifone: Peter
Just wondering if I have missed something some where on the talk of a new RPZ 50-150mm I have the new 17-50mm and if there is a big brother to it Ill take one right now.
Let me know if anyone has any info on this.
