SEIKI 4K real estate
SEIKI 4K real estate
Agree totally ... glad you liked it when playing true RED UHD footage ... and yes, once the colorimetry is dialed in, the SEIKI produces an amazingly good looking image .... and quite frankly, I'm glad they didn't waste a penny on the audio electronics .... for $1500 (or $1200 if you can still get the $300 off coupon) you get a 10 bit panel that displays RED footage pretty damn well ... I don't even mind the build quality .... the value is all in the 3840x2160 display ... no frills or unnecessary BS.
The 65 inch TV won't be here until the end of the summer ... so you might want to buy the 50 inch now and start saving your pennies ... then put the 50 inch in the study and have the 65 inch in the sitting room.
The attached jpeg shows the SEIKI with DaVinci Resolve in "normal 1920x 1080" mode in the top left corner ... and a Panavision 24 inch HD SDI display next to it .... once you expand Resolve or FCPX or Premiere Pro to full screen you kinda get used to having that much real estate for your desktop
Cheers,
Neil
SEIKI 4K real estate
Went to the TigerDirect store here in Clearwater Florida.
They had the Seiki hooked to a 'Gamer' Win7 PC with a 600 series nvidia card driving HDMI 1.4 direct with the Seiki blue cable.
They had a third party calibration disk there to try to 'accessorize' the Seiki with...So I assume they dialed it as best they could with that.
As for 4K content they had Tom Lowe's Timescapes short in 4k and it looked fabulous.
I'm not sure if the video card was upresing but the HD content I brought on a USB looked great too.
It was nice to see the Epic 700 reel on it. and Mark Toia's helicopter footage.
I was lucky enough to download the Red NAB13 reel before the link on Vimeo got disabled.
Played that like 3 times in a row. (sound sucked but I expected that)
All I can say is wonderful.
