  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

+1 Module shipping next week

Jarred confirmed in this thread the touch functions are fully working when TOUCH LCD is connected on the +1... even tho the video is coming from HDMI port.

I wonder what the engineering problem is that they need the HDMI cable for the +1? The Pro I/O isn't the same is it?

I understand the locking mech not being part of the brain - hence the need for the module adapter (that's what he's talking about in that post). I'm more curious about why the +1 has an exterior HDMI cable that we need to plug into the brain; ostensibly the video info would pass through the myriad of pins just like the menu input etc does? Yes / No?

The Pro I/O doesn't have an external HDMI hookup in order to pass the video?

Must be to keep costs down. Probably cheaper tech to just run an internal "adapter cable" so to speak than to do a traditional I/O type function.

The correct answer is in post 121 bu Jarred in this thread :

The Pro IO does not use the HDMI but requires an ASIC to create a new signal path thus cost more, takes more space, needs extra fan etc...

What would have been amazing and solve everything is if the module had an extra loop thru HDMI plug so we could switch off the +1 monitoring and reactivate a regular HDMI signal without removing the module itself

A question that came up just out of curiosity, Pro I/O together with the +1, does it work? :)

This!!!

Would have made a lot of sense. Especially since the HDMI is almost impossible to get to in the first place if you do need it. And sometimes... you do.

I too would like the answer to this question.

If the Pro I/O were attached to the back of the +1, would they both work so that you would be able to run
a total of 3 monitors?

Also, I see that the Pro I/O is not available for order. When will it be back in stock?
And, when can we buy and expect delivery of the new Red Tactical "BackPack Adapter"?

The question I've got is will the Plus 1 work with 3.3.15? I kind of remember reading on a post that it's only working with 4.x.x.......If that's the case is 4.x.x close to release?

As I understand it, RED is still hashing out software issues with the Pro I/O and due to complaints about unfinished/beta features, the product was pulled. It will be back once things get sorted.

Is it available Jarred??:)

Great and simple idea, congratulations

Only working on 4+

Maybe this has been answered before, but will the monitor plug on the +1 module offer full functionality, touchscreen and button commands, or will it just be a "dumb" video port?

Any news about the power specifications on the AUX-port?

Yes it does does touchscreen.

Power for the Aux port is 2 amps continuous from 12-17V.

OOoops only tomorrow right?

RED really needs an accessory subscription program. They should just automatically ship me one of everything they make as they release it. It would save both of us time and effort.
