Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
I am selling my Red Gemini DSMC2 camera with 108 hours on it. I have a monstro and I use that more than the Gemini. I took pictures in my light box of what is included. Not parting out, selling everything. I am the original owner of all the gear.

I am looking for a good quality articulating arm for my monstro/monitor. I am using the Red version, but I am sure that one is a rebranded one from China. It works but think it will wear out and doesn't hold up to well without cranking down on the lever.
When shooting interviews and using multiple Reds, is there a way to start recording all the cameras at the same time? I thought maybe fool control but I think it's a one camera only remote. Anything out there that does this?
I am not sure if this mount for EF lenses will make a difference? Do I need it? I have the s35 EF mount and so far at 8K I am not seeing vignetting on my mount. But any wide angle lens will I have an issue or does this DSMC VV AL CANON MOUNT make a difference?
Probably a dumb question. If I buy a camera from over seas from another country, I am assuming the Red options are the same if I were to buy in the USA? Just go into settings and set up?
Would you consider about 650 hours on a Monstro a lot? I wanted a full frame sensor and got one for about $32K under warranty. I have a Red Gemini that I am debating on keeping or selling.
Has anyone had any issues with drop frames on their Red DSMC2? I was shooting in Pro-Res? It's a quick blip in the video where I get a get a black screen for a split sec.
I have a technical question. Let's say I want to record action at 24 fps. If I see action while recording at 24 fps, how do I record in slow motion instantly to slow down the action?
Thank you.
Adam
Beside's price, which would you choose?
OMOD XLR2 vs. Red's DSMC2 PRODUCTION MODULE (V-LOCK)
I am leaning towards OMOD XLR2 since it has knobs. Not seeing a lot of reviews on it though. Thoughts?
I have an LED light that requires near 30 volts and was wondering if there's a mount where I can use two v mount batteries to get close to 30 volts when run in series? Any leads out there?
I been seeing several posts where people are looking to trade their monstro for a gemini and some cash. I maybe interested in doing that kind of trade if it makes sense.
I hear different things about the quality of the picture on the Gemini. I hear it produces a soft image even when your subject is in focus. So what's the verdict? Do you Gemini owners wish you went 8K helium instead?
Being somewhat of a newbie to Red cameras I didn't pay much attention or understand the S35 8K sensor and cropping that happens when shooting at lower resolutions. I find myself not shooting much at 8K right now. If I understand correctly if I shoot anything lower than 8K res let's say 5K, I am...
I am still getting fine noise in my images. Like tiny small dancing pixels more noticeable in the black/darker areas but you can still see it in lighter areas.
I black shaded/ Calibrated @ current setting 8K
Did recent firmware upgrade
Made sure T/E temps were green
Still get noise. Any...
I have the DSMC2 Red Volt Expander. I am using one Sennheiser lav mic AVX systems. I plug in the receiver to the XLR input Channel 1. I am only getting sound out of the left channel. How do I get sound mono on both sides without using two mics/ inputs?
Thanks!
I got a question, I did a firmware upgrade successfully and black shaded. I don't know if this is normal or not, but when I record in 8K or any other resolution and I view the footage, I see very tiny pixels dancing or very fine noise it appears to me. The iso isn't being pushed and I am...
