I am still getting fine noise in my images. Like tiny small dancing pixels more noticeable in the black/darker areas but you can still see it in lighter areas.

I black shaded/ Calibrated @ current setting 8K
Did recent firmware upgrade
Made sure T/E temps were green

Still get noise. Any insight? I don't think this is normal.

I did a test of 8K, 7K, 6K, 5K, 4K in a sample video rendered.

Here's a link to the files.

Thanks in advance!

What you posted is not a functional clip.

Noise happens because of lack of exposure, of light hitting the sensor. If you want a perfectly clean picture with no noise in shadows (hard for many cameras), then drop your ISO. Shot at 640 or 320. You will have practically zero noise. Why? Because you'll be compensating by adding more lights or opening up your iris. Just make sure as you bathe your sensor in light you are checking your highlights and not clipping.

Looks totally acceptable to me. Use DEB if you want monochromatic noise vs. Color noise.

Thanks bob. Still a newbie but DEB in Red Cine X? Not sure where to find? Can you explain further? What does DEB do? Thanks so much.

There is a small checkbox called DEB that essentially reduces chroma noise to more monochromatic which can help minimize the effect of noise.

Thank you. I will try that
