  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Birger Lens Mount Reservations

I don't think Erik could post such a list, for the sake of confidentiality, if at all legal. I for one wouldn't like a manufacturer to post the fact that I've order with them on a public site. Even thought I gave my name to 1Dog's list.

I understand that. But as 1dog pointed out, it could be a variation or range that is "safe"... but accurate. Even my feeble attempts to get people who receive their mounts to post their order date is something to go by. Even if we could get a... "shipping December 15-31 orders now..." would be helpful.

107.261601 to 107.302459 Shipping OCT
108.01..... to 108.30... Shipping NOV
Well, going from the Birger website, the Sigma mount has already started shipping in September, the Nikon Mount came out this month, and the Bluetooth remote has been available since september 2008...

On a completely unrelated note, some good films only work because they employ the system of "suspension of disbelief" :gun:

refers to the willingness of the audience to overlook the limitations of a medium, so that these do not interfere with the acceptance of those premises. According to the theory, suspension of disbelief is a quid pro quo: the audience tacitly agrees to provisionally suspend their judgment in exchange for the promise of entertainment.

Hey Dominique, I saw who you were replying too. I was just letting you know as the originator. Its a forum after all.

Martin, LMAO....

Morpheus, "Welcome to the REAL world.".

I can see how this post sucks people in. We get caught up in the details, but eventually we get to the point.

Hey no problem, I agree with you, and would like that too. BUT, with regard to "history", would that really be that useful? Meeting deadlines hasn't been one of the strength of this whole thing so far...

Whatever is the case with the list it seems to be accurate in the sense that I've received those emails from Birger saying in the first batch but have not yet received a shipment notification from Fedex. Feel like a veteran of this thread.

But, live in the hope that the mount will be shipped either today or tomorrow. Decided to go with the Birger mount as soon as the first news of it were announced. Made my reservation almost 11 months ago at the first possible moment I was able to send a fax message, my mount was charged from my credit card already in August, and still waiting patiently. Yep, I'm in stage five: the mount arrives when it arrives and I know it's going to be technically a great product.

I just got back from a 3 day, 14 hours a day studio shoot with lights and camera on all the time and my RED, birger mount, origo and cool lights (HMIs) all functioned perfectly the entire time.

The jib tipped over during a violently fast dolly/jib move and I caught the camera as it went down but it lost power. (we were plugged into a ups but the ups wasn't on the dolly) and it turns out, if you yank the power while the RED is recording, it doesn't screw up the drive. We got everything off the drive including part of the take where we lost the jib. (we reformatted after we got the data) It wasn't the jibs fault, we should have chained and sandbagged the tripod for the speeds we were working at. (which we did later of course). It was a seven jib on an oconor 1030 on a long valley dolly, which for the money is a fun combo. We later rigged the jib up on a bucket lift 20 feet up and slung the operator off the bucket lift where he proceeded to show me new moves like the "whip crane up".

When was your order date and shipping email date? My order date was late January (25th?) and I got my shipping email October 1st. :)

WHAT THE F???? My order date was November 28th and I got my shipping email and paid in early August. Still no tracking number. Oh, wait, are you saying that you got your tracking number, or are just expecting to get it based on Erik's previous statements?

No tracking number yet.

Yup, I'm just going by Erik's word that the remaining customers who got their shipping emails will be "caught up" this Thursday and Friday. I got my shipping email that said I was supposed to get the mount October 2-8. I'm paid in full too, according to Amy.

I ordered in November also, and no tracking number yet.

It's the end of the work day on the east coast, and no tracking #s. Looks like this shipping promise can go with all of the others...

I will wait and refrain from commenting until the end of my workday here on the West coast.

There are a few customers left that have received their "shipping" emails, but not yet received a tracking number. We expect to catch up on these thursday and friday.

Last few packages for the day are being closed up, and walked over to fedex. If you did not receive your email yet, it will probably go out on Monday. We are so close to wrapping up this batch... please hang in there.

Before posting, please remember, I am also disappointed with the status of things. Negativity isn't going to help.
