Scarlet Deal of a Lifetime

Hey Guys, a bit of an update for you guys that are still waiting... Our Quality Control guys are going as fast as then can, I kinda surprised them with this deal so they have been a bit overwhelmed. It's definitely overkill to retest everything... but to make sure everything is perfect.. it is worth the wait, specially considering that the warranty period is a big shorter on Battle Tested cameras.

We expect all of the Scarlets to have re-passed QC and be out the door by the end of next week.. we have switched to a 7 day work week.

You guys are awesome. And not to just kiss ass buy honestly I always considered myself as an early tech adopter but I rarely ever comment on forums, etc. I just recently purchased a Scarlet and am just amazed that the owners and management of a company would take the time to constantly communicate with their customers. I feel like that changes the way I would like to engage in business in the future. You are setting a standard. Truthfully I have not followed this forum before July of 2012, so it may just be new to me but I have to applaud that.

Thanks Samir.

Jim and I are both shooters.. so we know what its like to have questions and what it's like to wait for orders... and we are horribly guilty at making you guys wait far too often.

But we are getting better.. Our manufacturing and Quality Control team can turn on a dime now.. This deal was a late night last minute decision and our team stepped up. We opened up another testing line, Went double down on some new equipment just to re-test all these Scarlets, and the troops are so excited about this stuff they are willing to work overtime to get caught up.

Not the most financially responsible thing for us to do.. but it sure feels good :)

It's a step for all companies in the right direction. Honestly as a business owner myself I can understand how sometimes it can be stressful to be on call at all times and in the same right be under-appreciated. I just wanted to applaud you guys for staying the course. I will say that your company inspires me and not just in terms of creativity. The way you handle business will rub off on many on this forum that have other businesses of all different industries as well.

Hey Jarred,
Thanks for the honest update and I'm sure all us soon to be owners are very appreciative of the extra effort you and the QC guys are putting in. We all know you guys are busy, but we really have no clue how busy. So it's very assuring to know you guys know how we feel right now and are actually doing something about it.

P.S. I know the Bomb Rep's don't get a lot of praise on here, but I want to give thanks to my Rep Tyler who's been "THE MAN" so far with staying on top of things.

+1 for Tyler.

It is definitely worth the wait Jarred! After all, like you'd mentioned, this is truly the deal of a lifetime. You guys are the best...!!

The waiting is the hardest part, channeling my Tom Petty. The BT Scarlet is my first RED and I can't think of anything more disappointing than firing it up only to have it crash. Kudo's to RED for going the extra mile(s), RED meticulousness is one of the reasons I joined the revolution (that, and the ridiculously low price of those BT Scarlets). 10 months ago I had to decide between the Scarlet and the C300, and after I went down my checklist the C300 came out on top despite me wanting the Scarlet more. Now I get to have two great tools for the jobs at hand! Methinks now that RED has their hooks in me (or is it my hooks into them?) I'll be rocking the C300 a bit less. But hey, it's all about the right tool for the job.

Thanks Eric.. welcome to the family. Can't wait to see what your first shoot turns out like.. don't forget to email me when you have something to show. We get a tremendous amount of satisfaction not just from building the tools.. but watching what you guys all create with them.

I just saw the post. Are their any more of these BT scarlets left? Couldn't find this answer on the thread? anyone?

All gone - long gone… Newly announced price for a brand new Scarlet is pretty close to what this deal was anyway.

Anyone ditch their BT Scarlet after the price drop announcement? Curious on what route people went.

Anyone get a tracking number for their BT Scarlet since last Thursday?
Haven't got mine yet. I have been told my camera will be shipped from RED UK today or tomorrow at the latest.. Can't wait to see it at my doorstep.

Nope - in fact mine came in before the price drop and has already been out with it's sister on 5 shoot days, with 2 more this week… Paid for! Price drop? what price drop?

Any idea when some news will come in about the specs on Dragon Scarlet?? I'm torn between the battle tested Red one MX / Scarlet right now.. I would be a firs time owner and quite anxious. :/

The 'problem' with the battle tested R1 - is that there is no upgrade path. It has been EOL'd. So if you are worried about / want to upgrade: Scarlet is the path. If you want a great cam at a rock bottom price R1MX*

*Though if you are starting from scratch and have to buy accessories etc - Scarlet may still be the cheaper option.

tracking number received today. Scarlet in transit - Coming home :)

Hey Vladimir - I think the Red one is a great option for that price point. If you cant rent till you save up enough money its still a workhorse that will serve you for a number of years. With the new pricig the Scarlet is much more affordable though. You wont regret any choice you make i think.
