As far as the BT R1 goes = its a great entry into RED - the value after you use it for a year wont be much lower . After the BT R1's are gone the value will probably stay around that point, 4K and great flexibility - plus low priced used accessories WOW that is the 2nd place for deal of a lifetime!!

I waited since April for my BMD, I sure hope I can get my BT Scarlet before that comes to public

Just IMHO, from an outsider's perspective: if you're interested in just making movies, the R1MX is your money-melon. If you want a DSMC camera, well, the choice is obvious.

Scarlet-X #02445 arrived today. Thank you! Very excited if I like the camera and the workflow. Very happy with the CinemaDNG workflow of the BMCC so far, also like the very fast F3 + KiPro Mini ProRes workflow. Gonna be interesting days working with 4K footage!

I was told those hours are from the QA process. As long as my Scarlet arrives ready to rock then 8 hours is nothing. I also added the RED ARMOR because I like security. Can't wait to get my hands on her. Congratulations on your new Scarlet X.
