  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

hmm.. didn't even need this but bought one anyway... can't wait for my red collection to grow.
 
Let's guess how many were for sale. So they said it was a special 3 second shot. Considering Scarlet only shoots 5k in 12fps I am guessing they probably went to 4k and 30fps. Frozen motion? So maybe each camera shot 90 frames? and how long of a frozen motion scene before it gets boring? Anyone have a guess? And it looks like in that corner screen shot maybe 20 cameras but that is only one curve of this setup.

Dilemma dilemma, wondering if I should get this now, or save up for the Dragon update. haha.
 
Hi Brendon

In Oz you have to pay 10% GST on imports over $1000 - if you're a business registered for GST then you just offset this against GST collected. You may have to pay duties as well - although some RED imports have virtually none - while others have more. This maybe due to the free trade agreement (and where the products are actually manufactured) or just random customs procedures - but I paid less duties on a whole Scarlet package last year than 2 x REDmags last month ... just presume you will ahve to pay some than its a bonus if you dont :)

Still a great price - and you pay less tax/ duties than on the regular price - so win win :)

Exactly what Fritz said, Jarred. Thank God. Love my RED MX, but that little Scarlet's gonna come in handy for airplanes, steadicam, handheld, and more.

Oh, and stealing shots with a RED MX in Los Angeles is pretty tough (have done it, though). This will be awesome.

Of course, this deal is best for those of us who are already RED customers- we've got the accessories, pipeline sussed out, etc. Yay us! So happy I get to stay RED for almost all my jobs, and all my personal projects, now.
 
wow.. you guys must have alot of friends. I thought it was going to take a month or two to sell all these but it looks like it might not even make it to the end of the week.
 
Hehehe. I doubt it, Jarred. I've mentioned it to a couple of my friends here in Jakarta. Another three orders should be hitting the Bomb Squad soon. BTW, does it come with the case? :D
 
Hmmm keep putting money away for dragon, or buy a backup body?
