Seeing others getting and setting up their new Scarlets really gets me even more excited to receive mine..!

I just filmed a lot.

ill be uploading footage tonight!

And yes, that lens is awesome!

Congrats for the tiny beast!

How is this tripod doing on such an setup?

Pat

The tripod is doing fine. It's a 26lb load, so im either right at the max, or a little over.

Either way, she's holding up like a champ.

Michael,
Did you sleep? Ha
What video head are you using?

I have a Cinevate FF too and love it.
Ryan

Michael, i watched your footage on vimeo. Thanx for sharing. i see something weird (in full screen) on the lamp and his shoulder when he's climbing, like some vertical .... "something". was it in the original?

edit: I saw your answer on Vimeo. thanx!

I saw that too. Also noticed some banding towards the end. My guess would be compression related? Thanks for doing this, Michael. Nice rig.

Everything is a compression problem.

Im going to go in today and try to compress it differently and see if it works.

Stay tuned!

Michael does the 4k 2:1 mode have look space or is it filling the monitor?

hmmm. doesn't look like a compression problem.... That vertical line stays in the same spot through the whole video.

Well im looking at it through RCX and there is no line. Ill check again.

Besides the hardly noticeable line, it looks really great. and in my opinion 48fps is the perfect slow-mo speed

keep it up!

It's definitely a new experience with compression and editing, im mostly a director/camera man, never really hand much of the editing, but im determined to find the BEST compression settings.
