  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Where in line are we and how manmy ordered?

Not sure about that. I had open orders, one shipped today. And a second is about to go out according to my bomb squad rep. Neither shipment was my scarlet.

The fedex shipping notification from red was still exciting to get. Finally a bomb evf!

In which case thats fine, add in the accessories, it will help fill out the SO idea, if people also mark off the SOs as 'arrived' etc.

I don't think it's true I have placed and order for the EPIC-X and an open order for more than 25 000 $ of accessories is pending however there are some people who are notified for delivery of the PL Scarlet before I've been even asked to place a deposit... an they have a later SO number...

But I think that it's due to the fact that I'm from Europe so I belong to RED UK. That's the game ... I'm ok with that
But I can swear to you that as soon as I get the SCARLET I will stop everything I'm doing and I will go to hardly shoot and shoot and shoot for you guys in order get you some nice footages to watch ! hehe

This is what I am hoping. I am far down, but being it is a PL mount and with the parts orders flooding the system, it could be further up than I think.

The chart is great, very exciting. Though of course there are not many people on that list. There are some big gaps in the SO numbers, but many could be the parts orders? I myself only have one other order after my scarlet, redmote and cage order. Trying to be patient, but with the busy shipping season approaching and loss of work days december doesnt leave a smooth travel month for gear.

Good point about the Xmas mayhem with shipping particularly for overseas buyers ordering from the US. mmmmm so maybe I will not be shooting myself in 4k splendor getting drunk with Santa.
 
I just thought of something in regards to that formula...

It doesn't take into account that ALL sales are not Scarlet orders. Someone that ordered a single REDVOLT after November 3rd is going to be involved in there and will get their stuff right away.

Right?

Nor does it account for people ordering two or more scarlets (cheap 4K 3D).

So far it doesn't look like there are many multiple orders on the spreadsheet though. I assumed that for every person that ordered one there would be one who ordered 2 but that doesn't appear to be the case.

There are probably a couple at least of big rental houses that got early orders in for twenty of the damn things, which could skew expectation for the rest of us.

Interesting looking at the spreadsheet, AL Canon mounts appear to outnumber TI something like 25:1!

My bet is because of the DSLR shooters looking to upgrade (like me)
 
mine says 4/7/2012 and yet I was supposed to be in the first batch. If 4/7/2012 is true my boss is going to be pissed!!

Just looked at the doc and it says you ordered on 11/15 - but also says you were at the event.
Did you wait 12 days after the announcement to put in your order?

Yes, I have corporate tape to deal with PO, T&C, Vendor approvals....we deal with *stuff* and so require documents. Anyways the rep said I was still good for Jims offer.
The date is at the end of the document...its says Formula Test

And how did the order info get on there? I thought that was odd...did someone add it?

We're talking about the google doc, Jeffrey - nothing official, just some rough estimates based on guesses... no way of knowing how accurate it might be
(which basically means it's not accurate at all and just for fun).

He just took my rough "worst case" scenario estimates and put into a column for laughs. It's not an accurate prediction. It ignores the fact as people have mentioned that after a week most orders probably weren't scarlet anymore and that production will ramp up over time from what Jim said they could handle a few months ago.
 
I hope that I can take delivery before the 21st. I wonder how feasible this is.
I am trying to restrain myself from sending an e-mail.

I'm in the same boat, except its closer to the 14th for me...I emailed my rep already to see if I could 1 day ship the camera itself.
