  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC-X UPDATE

Stand by the "big door" at the Boeing factory, and and watch 737's spit out at the rate of One per day .... boggles the mind!

George, saw that in a documentary a while ago - image EPIC-X coming out the "big door" or the "red door" :-)

Amazing news!!!

Probably after finish of shipping EPIX-X orders at both stages then it comes EPIC-S in line!!??

The situation totally changed now in a good direction that even could be possible to order EPIC-S sometimes close to Christmas!!??

Jay (and others) were asking about the Pro I/O module, not the Pro Battery module.

The Pro I/O module is NOT included in the package.
That's the last time I post at 6 in the morning. :)

Well, right you are... disappointing that we lose the inputs and outputs that many productions will need, though the inclusion of the titanium mount probably makes up for that pretty handily. I'm just sad they killed the base module as I liked the smaller form factor and don't anticipate a need for all of those onboard XLR jacks. Oh well, that's minor... I'm just glad things are starting to move along.

Thanks for the update.

While we're all fully aware that delivery dates change (we're counting on it!), these updates are incredibly helpful in so many ways.

Here's hoping September is an EPIC month!

Jarred and/or Brent,

This being July and with cameras (hopefully) beginning shipment in late August or early September in large numbers, how will you handle emails going out to Stage 2 depositors?

open question ticket: Will the Nikon mounts be ready when the cameras start shipping?

Can't wait, that's great news, not only about the delivery, but the package feature changes!!! That's exactly what I hoped for having already moved to SSD with my MX... And the Titanium mount is such an added feature for run'n gun!!! Bravo Jim & Co!!!

Question: in the event one wants to shoot using 2 monitors, will the Epic-X be able to handle 2 Lcd's, like the included 5" and say the current 7" pro Lcd at once, or will it be restricted to maximum the Lcd and the Evf as it is the case now with the Red One?

once we start shipping :)

I could tell you good our assembly guys have gotten and how few minutes it now takes to build a camera, but you wouldn't believe me :)

Just curious, have you partially built any Epic X cameras, while waiting for the parts to complete them, or do you need the parts to commence production?

Unlike the R1, only one Red monitor (LCD or EVF) can tap the Epic Brain. The I/O module is necessary for more Red monitoring. But the Epic brain also has HDMI and HD-SDI output, so you could, for instance, have the operator using the EVF while AC pulls focus with an HDMI or HD-SDI monitor, though that would not include menu functionality. Or the AC could operate menus and focus via a Red LCD and the operator could use another HDMI or HD-SDI monitor for framing.

Awesome news! And as a Stage-2 reservationist, I'm hoping the new dates work out.

On the other hand, I just got my 'M' about 3 weeks ago, so part of me wants you guys to just take your sweet time now... ;) Hehehe

Or if you really want to be posh...

- EVF on Brain for operator
- HD-SDI on I/O Module for focus puller
- HD-SDI on brain to HD-SDI splitter then out to Teradek & Director Monitor

Not sure if all thats possible...

thanks so much for the up date

great news on the Ti mount and SSD...really great

Thanks for the update Jarred.
So happy with my M and waiting my X
;)
