  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

WTB set of 5 Canon K35

I have a set of 4 Fst K35 just out of TLS after a full service. PL Mounted T1.3
24mm 35mm 55mm 85mm
The glass is pristine and no fungus etc.
They are priced at £13,000.00 gbp.
I also have a 18mm T2.8 Which is being PL Mounted and serviced by TLS as we speak.
Price will be £1950.00
All have caps and are ready to shoot a Transit case is supplied.

Dear Aree, I am known for selling these K35 lenses. Your offered price is just crazy. They cost me almost 2x this figure before remedial work.
I just cannot work out where you are at, or who is advising you?

I have had 5 sets of k35s offers from owners wanting to sell get in contact with me 1 set has 9 lenses in the set where the owner wants 8500 pounds for the set all very good working order and great condition from the pictures so i cant justify spending x amount for 4 lenses??
 
I have never seen a solid set of K35 lenses (even those in need of remounting) sell for under 16K US. Usually a good PL mount set runs around 22-25K.
 
HI paul would you pay 24,000 thousand us for this set?? as a set is made of 11 lenses is it not?anyway that was my offer and i think it is a very good offer for 40% of a lens set thank you.
 
Dear AREE,
These will be in BNCR and ex Moviecam lenses. These are pre Canon K35 T1.3 Series and will be Remounted Canon FD series lenses.
Not all of these lenses can be remounted easily and may cost in excess of £1k gbp to rework, even if its possible some are not!!
They could have other FD lenses between 18 T1.3or T2.8 25 T1.3 thro 35 55 85 the same. These are all the K35 ever made by Canon. A slow T2.8 24 also exists from the first tranch by Canon which were 18 24 and Zoom 20-120 macro. These can be remounted at a reasonable figure.
Moviecam lenses are 18mm 20mm 22mm 28mm 35mm 40mm 50mm 75mm 85mm 100mm 200mm most of the rest like 12mm 14mm and others are mounted by Optex and others. Original have moviecam upon them also.
If you think all lenses are the same ask around a lot of guys and other dealers and dont listen to rumour. We have spoken at length on the phone previously and I thought you had your finger on the pulse with these lenses.
I am always available and I do not over price for quick gains. I will be around for some time to come.
The K35 set I have are still available.

Going rate for this set IF they are Moviecam FD lenses is about £8 or 9k only, in superb condition BNCR Mounted.

Real k-35s are excellent excellent lenses. A set of 5 (18,24,35,50,and 85mm) would be bargain at up to $28k US. I can't think of any set of lenses that perform as well and are as fast or as small at the same price point.

A good PL mount K35 set is hard to come by, espcially if you have to remount them from BNCR set, it would cost a fortune. I believe Tony is asking for the fair price for the set and trust me it's worth every single penny to invest in K35 lenses. Btw, I happen to have a spare K35 55mm in BNCR mount. anyone interested in a swapping for a K35 35mm? It's the only focal that I dont have in my set.
 
We have spent quite a bit of time assembling a set of these lenses and it is neither easy nor cheap. They are not a simple remount to PL. And as Nick said, these are really outstanding lenses. The small size alone is kind of amazing considering how fast they are and and how sharp they are. I am not surprised that you are looking for a set, but getting a very good set, given their age, is not going to be a snap. As in all things, you might get lucky, but most people know what these lenses are when they own them and are not going to give them away.

We bought 2009 a Movielens set from 18-180mm in BNCR and we will never going to sell them... we bought them for around 16.000 Euros and they are worth every single penny - we are planing to buy the Horseman TS-Pro soon and because of it's image circle this set will fit perfectly.
As soon as we have the TS we will posts some stills !!

I have to say sorry to tony covell i was offerd a lens set which is not true k35s moviecams is what i was offerd stiil very good ive been told but my offer was way to low for true k35s.
 
Having sold a BNCR mounted 18mm to Tony & had repairs done by TLS , I can tell you the price is fair & the lenses will be in top condition.

85mm for sale it's in decent shape.
It's a lens that we used on daily basis.
The following are all the things that makes it differ from superb / perfect condition for this lens. All which I believe can be taken care of for a few hundred dollars. But again, it's in good working order as it is right now so those fixes listed would be to make it just as new.

1. The PL mount is custom made (do not know who made it, it's working fine as it is but I know it's not original. I believe the original mount was BNC-R for this lens. the mount can be replaced by Duclose or any other lens doctor for a few hundred dollars. I would not do so but if you want it to be perfect / original standard then I guess you swap the mount

2. There is a cosmetic "cut" looks like somebody made the old BNC-R mount a bit wider with a file or such. if you rub some black paint on it nobody will see. it's visible on the base of the lens in some of those pictures.

3. Do not know the origin of this problem but I guess it's a calibration or back focus thing. And to get it right the lens would need to be "chimed" i.e a microscopic move out from the camera. As it is now when pulling focus to infinite it's possible to pass infinite. but the focus scale is correct. So I believe if the lens is chimed correctly and the focus scale is offset then it will be all right. Also something that any lens doctor most likely can easily fix / do. And the cost should not be huge..

Except for the 3 above it's all perfect no dust or fungus or such and all mechanics runs smooth and it's probably the best 85mm I ever had. But it sticks out when used together with our other lenses "Super Baltars" so I can only use it when we do small films using one lens. Thats the reason for selling it.

A set of 4 K35's is about 8-15k USD so I think a price of 2200USD excluding shipping is fair considering the 85mm are really hard to find and also deducting some for the small errors listed above.

The lens comes with a 110mm nylon nose ring (removable but good to go with RED mattbox or such) and a 110mm nose cap. and also a RED back lens cap.

Exactly. I have used these and they are wonderful. Very fast and sharp. Best price I have seen for a perfect set was about 23K for BNC mounted versions, but agree 28 is more apt to be the figure after PL conversion.
