  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Wooden Handgrip for RED - Aaton Digital

Don't show me awesomely cool things I cannot purchase yet.

I always wanted the ebony version of the Movigrip handle that the guy does on special request. If I remember correctly he quoted me around $1300 for a grip in ebony with a start / stop button. At the time it was too rich for my blood:

Accept no imitation:-)
The new ‘smart’ Aaton handle is coming soon... cheaper, with more buttons and fool bluetooth setup app...

When you think of what Aaton used to be... Now they're making handgrips for other camera manufacturers... it's kinda sad indeed, but it must be me, as a French. Their audio gear apart, of course.

Jean-Pierre Beauviala is truly missed.

True. my first major success was on a super 16mm aaton. SR3 too big, too heavy, too expensive.

the French are great innovators but at some point they became more about style then follow up and engineering.. the digital aaton could've been amazing ... more work less play ?

I would love to have this with a built in RTmotion thumbwheel.
I do still prefer a «*stick like*» handgrip as it doesn’t force you to hold it one way.

But accessing RED menu on the tip of your finger is a big +
To activate and desactivate the speed ramp for example.
Is the small wheel precise enough to pilot a Zoom motor for example?
