I'm looking for a Wireless Follow Focus solution and I wanted to know your recomendations. This is so far what I found.

OMOD Command RT:

I like that its integrated to the RED camera and also has Wireless Transmitor to the monitor. Of course the pricing is really expensive, and I think this module wont work with the DSMC2 V-Lock I/O Expander which will even make the pricing go up more.
It has Ambient ACN

RTMotion MDR-SK motor Kit
This one goes into the side of the red, making the connection to the motors really nice, The pricing still really high and the biggest issue is the Side Handle is not supported, (has anyone test it with one?)

Nuvleus-M
Its really really cheap, does not required any external module in the camera, The grips to focus and zoom, I dont like them since I cant do handheld on the red like the RTMOTION Thumbwheel. But still pricing is really attractive, has anyone use

Thanks everyone for your advices.

Heden Carat is another one that I trust have 2 units and swear by them!!!

I've been using the RTMotion kit for a while and it's quickly become my favorite and has performed flawlessly for me. Really smart and slick kit.

Just got the Nucleus-M, a bit too early to make many calls. But it is the budget option.

Don't you miss some Arri and c-motion fonction on the controller? (LCD indications...)

I've been saving for the rt motion kit. What all do you have if you don't mind me asking Phill? A big downside is you have to send to UK for servicing correct? No place in the states? Cine gears has a decent 3 motor kit for under 4k, but the mdr looks so big and bulky. I believe cinegears is from Washington, so at least you should get faster service.

I have the cingears, and I wouldnt recomend it, it makes a lot of noise that even the mic can pick it up. Sometimes it disconnects randomly and the wheel has parts where there is no response.

Not really. On the WCU-4 in particular I've experienced lag and crashing still, though I love the feel in the hand. RTMotion showed something they are working on that's in the same ball park however if you desire LCD indicators. I imagine that comes in 2018. I need to spend time on the cPro Hand Unit, outside of a trade show I haven't had much time on it. Indicators are nice though, and some people are now relying on them.

Most ACs that pull out here either are using newer gear or much, much older gear that they are comfy with. I like things that play nice with my camera and at this point tidy rigging has become a pretty real priority.

The feel of RTMotion's hand controller is superb and well laid out. Motors are very responsive and can handle lots of glass. I've been happy thus far.

I would imagine something would have to go really wrong if the unit needs to be serviced, but I guess that's a concern, though maybe not with Vitec picking up RTMotion actually. I bet there will be at a minimum CA based service within a few months. Reliability, feel, responsiveness, and build quality are the priorities with wireless kits. While proximity to service is a thing, it's not exactly the most important thing. If a motor goes down, yes send it in for repair, but if you're on a shoot you need to get one pronto either way either via rental or ordering.

I have the full MK3.1 kit with both the Latitude and Receiver (for when I'm not interfacing with DSMC2 in particular). I'm mostly using the 6-axis controller, but do own the Smartknob and Thumbwheel for handheld, just not shooting handheld very often.

I haven't had fond experiences with teh Cinegear unit, though the kit is appealing from a price perspective.

Trade shows are a real tool to test out FIZ units because you can run around and test all of them in a day to really know what works and what doesn't. We're a ways away from the next big one, but just something to keep in mind next NAB, Cine Gear, or whatever.

Bar tech is still bullet proof. Just works and works and works. Simple but good.

There's also PD Movie. I had the very first version and it worked well. I got rid of it as at that time i wasn't using it that much but now i need to get back into that game. I see PD Movie have updated new motors and accessories. It appears lighter than the Tilta, it's shipping now (unlike Tilta) and overall pretty much offers the same thing. The V1 stuff worked fine.

Has the product range on.

I think i may try them again as a decent alternative to Nucleus.

cheers

You think its worth the extra 10,000 usd, are there any features that you will be missing?
