  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

So just wondering who after all the specs we know about already, is fairly sure they will be trying to get hold of a Komodo as soon as they can, vs who is probably going to wait and let others do the first real world testing and decide once they see some footage from normal use etc?

Actually, I am constantly on the lookout for the Stormtroopers before the mass production release.
 
I’ll be waiting awhile, but that is due to limited budget. Have to plan and save for it.
 
Given what we know right now about Komodo - absolutely. The past few years, I've been doing a ton 2-camera shoots, where one is set as a proper, fully-rigged A-camera for tripod and shoulder, and B-cam is required to be very light, portable, and swap quickly between different platforms. Komodo appears to be perfect for my needs, so the money is already waiting (not very) patiently in my bank account.
 
Yes-- I'm planning to order a regular production model as my 2020 camera purchase. The one caveat is that I'll hold off if it doesn't offer R3D recording at lower compression ratios-- I'd want to then see real-world results, and I'd think again about new options from Sony and Canon.

Stormtroopers will be available as soon as possible, before general production begins at a higher cost and will have a limited production run.
Due to the effects of the COVID-19 around the world that may affect mass production of some parts, if you want a Komodo asap, a Stormtrooper is the way forward!
Otherwise, wait for the standard model.
Hydrogen owners may take advantage of any discount for the standard model only. This discount will not apply to the limited Stormtrooper run.

Low light and handling extreme conditions are things which it (probably) won’t do so I’ll look elsewhere for those and possibly get a Komodo for less hostile stuff!
No hurry.

I don’t think extreme conditions will be an issue for a camera designed to be a crash cam.

Hey Jarred, what are the odds I could get my hands on Komodo #1337 when it rolls off the line? Anything I can do to reserve it?
