  • Hi Harvey, I trust this message finds you well. I write to you as a noob seeking your advice on a Red Komodo related issue. I've just recieved my Komodo with the Tilta battery plate but, I cant seem to fit or remove the SDi cable after I've powered the camera . I can only plug the cable in before I put on the batter which I believe goes against the recommended SDI protocol. I'll att'd a picture below. Please kindly share how I could work around this issue because I dont want to damage the SDI port.

    Welcome to the board.

I think the issue is that the battery is too wide. That’s one limitation of the Tilta plate—it works best with “micro” or “nano” batteries (like those from CoreSWX, GDU, and IDX.)

I took a photo showing an SDI cable plugged in underneath a CoreSWX nano, but actually not clear how to send in private message. But it does fit.
I’ve also successfully used slightly larger CoreSWX mini batteries.
