  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Who shipped their scarlet for a EPIC-X?

That's purely due to Epic being available and ready to go once the Scarlet is checked out.

Red typically doesn't charge for products that haven't been officially released yet. Occasionally a small % down payment.
 
hi dudes , i am curious about the nowadays waiting time betwen placing order and receive the RED's invitation to take the scarlet back to the factory for evaluation.

I just went through this process, but I'm out to dinner, so don't take this as an official answer. It should be 3-5 business days for camera evaluation, and then processing and shipping time at the end of that. I'm local so I just picked my camera up, which saves on shipping costs and time.

Heh. I'm just having a hard time letting Skully go :) I'll be introducing my Epic later today. I should keep the name, but something tells me this Epic needs in new one for itself.
 
Phil , for how long do you think RED will keep up with the trade-in program for scarlet to Epic-X?
 
First post (long time coming).

Scarlet 2839 is now Epic 5793.

Overnighted the Scarlet back to Red on June 19th, and paid for overnight shipping back to me. Accepted delivery of the Epic on July 1st.

Tough to say Marco, but imagine they'll give people a bit of a heads up before the terminate the program. It was a pretty easy decision for me as my kit rental just went up anf it saves me the hastle (saving time and money) of renting an Epic for upcoming shoots.
 
Scarlet 294 is on the way to Red Europe for the Epic upgrade :)

Sorry for not updating sooner. I had some issues with customs and ended up having to pay customs on the full amount of 17,500 instead of the upgrade cost of $9,500. Anyone else experience the same problem?
 
My Scarlet->Epic is now "in invoicing" whatever that means. It is paid for.
The Scarlet was OK'ed for health 6 work days ago.

It's amazing how slow this process is, I would have thought it should be 2 days max. I'm itching because I want to take the Epic on a big trip on Sunday, so my last chance day to pickup from Irvine is Friday!
 
Scarlet 0095 became Epic 5557 and couldn't be happier with it. Changing frame rates at will with no cropping. Here is a sample from the first shoot in Ireland we threw together. The people showing up in some shots was just for fun like our pal Tommy's leg and head. Mostly done with Nikon Pro 24-70mm and Tokina 11-16mm.

They told me, that they had problems with shipping cause of the accident in San Francisco and are awaiting a shipment tomorrow.
My Epic will also be on it :)

Did you talk to your Sales rep about this?

There is no way I will pay full amount in customs.

Canadians get taxed enough :P

Totally off the subject, but William I have a shoot coming up in Ireland , and I am wondering what custom documents you needed to bring your gear in to Europe. Did you need a Carnet or if not what did you use. thanks
BTW, Im waiitng for 2 more gigs to upgrade from my scarlet to Epic , this is one of the gigs !!
 
Hi Guys, something that's not completely clear to me is what you get back. Is it your old Scarlet with new parts? Or is it a completely new Epic?

Congrats to all with their new Epics!!
 
its a new epic with a one year warranty. buy it through the right business credit card and they double the manufacturers warranty... that's the way to do it... if one is going to do it rather then scarlet dragon...
