  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Who shipped their scarlet for a EPIC-X?

I hope you are correct that would be brilliant. My rep said that they were experiencing some delays due to the high number of upgrades being filled. They have already sent my the address confirmation email and the upgrade agreement to sign. Now just waiting for my Epic allocation.
 
Do the Scarlet - Epic exchange also happen in the German Red HQ? Is it possible to travel to germany with the camera, wait 2 days, and travel back home again? I can't be without a camera for a whole month. (Very slow postal system in my country).
 
My Epic has arrived. Can't play with it yet but it is indeed delivered.
 
Got EPIC yesterday but I haven't had time to test it. will play with it tonight after work.
 
picked mine up in irvine last week....after dropping off in hollywood it was 11 days before i could pick it up...no repairs necessary (i only had my scarlet for a couple of months)....super happy....

Hi Guys, I just took the upgrade last Friday.
I would like to know the total turn around time from the moment you order on RED.COM til the Epic Camera is in our hands.
By the way Scarlet Serial is #1053

-14 th of june. Order passed
-17 th of june. Credit card charged
-19 th of june. Return filled Document for Export
-20 th of june. Sent Scarlet via UPS
-24 th of june. Camera received + test evaluations
-09 th of july. FedEx delivred EPIC to me, Serial #05782 Im out for the day trying slow mo !

Total 4 weeks since I clicked the purchase button on RED website.

I placed an upgrade order ( Scarlet -> Epic ) today.
How backlogged is the queue lately ? Are we talking weeks or months ?

They have the "standard fans"

To be clear, those fans work JUST FINE! The UPGRADED fans are just that... an upgrade, for quieter operation if needed.

No one really knows, Les. I'd expect at least a few weeks until you get called to send your camera in. From there, expect approximately 2 weeks of down-time.
 
Thanks for asking, Les! If nothing seriously happen, I thought I order Monday (trade in).

Would be nice to know (1+)

I just got mine back maybe less than a week ago. It was like a week wait to get processed, shipped it in over night and it was about 10 business day turn around.

PS I did wait 3 weeks to send in while I was shooting a feature
 
According to RED HQ as of today the "major wave" of upgrades has happened and it's more manageable than near the initial announcement and commencement of the program.

I'm sure there were some logistical things that also held up the first week of orders as well. They are saying 7-10 business days is a reasonable expectation.

However, if they find ashes or a chunk missing from your Scarlet-X there may need to be some additional back and forth.
 
They did charge my card right away on the scarlet->epic plan.
The other camera is a scarlet->scarlet-dragon, and that did not charge my card right away.
