I'm relatively new around here, but I have friends who are getting epics, and, like everyone else, we check the boards every day to try to figure out when we'll have one in our hands. Anyway..
The thought is if people are down with my idea, we can try to figure out:
1. When you'll get your epic (estimate)
The idea is if we have some specific info (this is where it may be a bad idea, because I would need info from everyone on this list in order to calculate... and I'm not into making people feel violated due to privacy issues).
Data from people who haven't received their epic yet.
a. Date you received your Red
Data from people who have received their letter.
a. Date you received your Red
b. Date AND TIME you received your email
c. Date AND TIME you provided payment (not sure if I need this)
d. Date AND TIME of when your EPIC has been shipped (if applicable)

d. Date AND TIME of when your EPIC has been shipped (if applicable)
e. Date AND TIME of when you received your EPIC
f. Country shipped to
If this information isn't incriminating, I can easily setup a web form for everyone to provide this info, and from it, I'll run some simple algebra to determine when you should receive your camera. It may be inaccurate, but it gives us a better idea.
To keep it anonymous, I don't need names or serial numbers.
If I have all the info requested above, I'll setup a web form where we can enter in the date you received your Red, and it'll spit out a date of when it thinks you'll get your Epic.
One thing that is unknown is the rate of acceleration of creating epics, and shipping them. I've seen the 1 epic = 13 minutes, but it doesn't mean Red is making 36ish epics per day. But, I think it'll be easy to adjust for this rate... and in the end.. my calculation would only be a ball park guess.
If this is an interesting idea, and I don't get hate-spit for it, then, I'll go ahead and setup a web form so everyone can put in their info.
