  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Who ordered EPIC stage 2? Let's try and count?

I'm relatively new around here, but I have friends who are getting epics, and, like everyone else, we check the boards every day to try to figure out when we'll have one in our hands. Anyway..

The thought is if people are down with my idea, we can try to figure out:

1. When you'll get your epic (estimate)

The idea is if we have some specific info (this is where it may be a bad idea, because I would need info from everyone on this list in order to calculate... and I'm not into making people feel violated due to privacy issues).

Data from people who haven't received their epic yet.

a. Date you received your Red

Data from people who have received their letter.

a. Date you received your Red
b. Date AND TIME you received your email
c. Date AND TIME you provided payment (not sure if I need this)
d. Date AND TIME of when your EPIC has been shipped (if applicable)

Data from people who have received their epic.

a. Date you received your Red
b. Date AND TIME you received your email
c. Date AND TIME you provided payment (not sure if I need this)
d. Date AND TIME of when your EPIC has been shipped (if applicable)
e. Date AND TIME of when you received your EPIC
f. Country shipped to

If this information isn't incriminating, I can easily setup a web form for everyone to provide this info, and from it, I'll run some simple algebra to determine when you should receive your camera. It may be inaccurate, but it gives us a better idea.

To keep it anonymous, I don't need names or serial numbers.

If I have all the info requested above, I'll setup a web form where we can enter in the date you received your Red, and it'll spit out a date of when it thinks you'll get your Epic.

One thing that is unknown is the rate of acceleration of creating epics, and shipping them. I've seen the 1 epic = 13 minutes, but it doesn't mean Red is making 36ish epics per day. But, I think it'll be easy to adjust for this rate... and in the end.. my calculation would only be a ball park guess.

If this is an interesting idea, and I don't get hate-spit for it, then, I'll go ahead and setup a web form so everyone can put in their info.

Received Epic #30

Received Epic #30

I received my Epic-X, SN 30, based on my RED One #30, on September 15, 2011. I'm still waiting to be notified about the second X ordered based on my RED One #5758. I also purchased an Epic M together with my friend Conrad Hunziker, of R3D Data, which we received in May. We sent in our "Proud New Owner" pix to be included in the Epic-M forum, but for whatever reason they never appeared. At any rate, I'm loving the Epic, and enjoying watching it mature.

I'm growing frustrated and concerned... As owner of RO 1163, and taking delivery of my RO in March 2008, I am still waiting, with growing impatience, for my notification email. I can't seem to get any help from my BS Rep, with a response of "Sorry, we can provide that information.", as I'm trying to estimate a delivery time in order to manage finances and my rental calendar. I'm noticing on these lists, a number of other people before me, who are also still waiting for their notification emails as well. Have we missed something, regarding the order of delivery? Could it be based on the Epic Stage-2 invoice date, instead of the RO invoice date?

My patience is growing thin.. and the lists seems to suggest that there are others who should be more pissed than I...

I still find it hard to imagine that if there are something like 6000 R1s eligible for Stage 2 and 3, that 6000 owners wouldn't pursue it.

It's too good to pass up.

Even if 2/3 of them opted for Stage 3 that would put at least 2000 in Stage 2.

Also, since the R1 body is worth more than the $9k extra trade in for Stage 3, it seems like even more would be driven to Stage 2.

As always, it would be in my best interest for there to be fewer participants in Stage 2, I just wouldn't expect it to be that low.

I think STAGE II will finish by mid November 2011.....(ie keeping 1200 as benchmark for STAGE II reservations)

I would like it to finish by end Oct though...speculation......speculation....

Not everyone could raise 20K in just a few months to upgrade to Epic. Had many of those people known it would take 3 years, there might have been more people taking up the offer. I know, I would have upgraded to the MX sensor as well as the SSD module, but I don't think anyone thought it would take this long. I'm really glad we're in the shipping phase now, and can't wait for both Stage 3 and stage 3.5.

Can someone who has recently received their stage 2 X please list exactly what the latest component list that is included with the stage 2 kit?
The other thing I would like to know is from that list, what exactly is currently shipping and what is back ordered?
We have Red One serial # 1315 at our Film coop and need to put together a useful accessory kit to have the camera up and running for our small rental depot.
Thanks in advance for anyone who can suggest the best basic list of accessories to get us up and running with tight budget.
We can't wait to see this amazing camera join our coop. Epic will be a huge plus for local film making here.

if you take delivery of your Epic X Stage 2 from UK, and have funds towards Epic on your Red Account in US (not the 5000.- USD Deposit) get in touch with your US bomb squad to transfer it to UK.

1765, delivered june 08. Got the email oct 7.

Here's an excerpt from my Red email.

As a reminder, the Stage 2 package consists of: EPIC-X Brain, PL Mount (Ti), Side SSD Module, 5" Touch LCD (with cable), REDmote, Module Adaptor, Pro Battery Module, 2x REDVolts, and Travel Charger.

I do know that the Pro Battery Module is on back order. I don't know what else.

I love seeing all those red and yellows!

me too....just would like more people to participate and let us know that they have received theirs...come on guys, let us know

Well even if not everybody does, chances are this list represents a large enough sample that we can get a good idea of where stage 2 stands. Stage 4 is coming!

Received my X! Original Red One 1738 delivered June 08. Redmote, Module Adapter, and Pro Battery Module are backordered, or not in production yet.

Hey Tim Congrats!

I'm still waiting for mine. 1545, delivered in April of 2008. Two months before yours. I don't understand their system. How long did it take to get your camera after you got your email?
