Hi all,

We have a Red Dragon Carbon in house that we have had since it came out and although are happy with it are considering either selling or upgrading to one of the new 8K bodies through the upgrade path. My only concern is, and one reason why I am considering selling outright is how many of the accessories we have will suddenly become redundant and the extra cost there of purchasing new modules.

If you guys have any input on what of the below would work with the new bodies that'd be appreciated!!

5" Red Touch Monitor
PL Mount
EF Mount
EF Motion Mount
512GB Mini Mags
Quick Release System
+1 Module
Back VLock Module
Bomb OLED EVF
Side ribs / top plate etc.
Side Handle
Redmote

Wooden Camera ABox for audio
Freefly Systems Side VLock plate for MoVI

Thanks in advance,

Cheers,
Phil

Hi Phil

5" Red Touch Monitor -> work just fine with lemo A adaptor

PL Mount -> Yes

EF Mount -> Yes

EF Motion Mount -> Yes (have to confirm it works fine with 8Ks35 helium as I have not tested but does work on DSMC2)

512GB Mini Mags -> yes

Quick Release System -> yes

+1 Module -> not compatible (but same features are built in camera brain / new power modules)

Back VLock Module -> not compatible

Bomb OLED EVF -> yes with lemo A adaptor

Side ribs / top plate etc -> not compatible

Side Handle -> not compatible

Remote -> not compatible but you have built in wifi for foolcontrol ;-)

Wooden Camera ABox for audio -> not compatible AFAIK

Freefly Systems Side VLock plate for MoVI -> not compatible AFAIK but would need someone who tried to confirm but mounting point on DSMC2 are not the same so it probably won't work.

Hope this helps

The A Box should work with the base Expander's mini jack outputs?

DSMC1 mini jack were able to provide 48V and each plug was a mono input... on DSMC2 base expander the mini jack is 2 channels and has no asymmetrical / 48V support so I guess A-Box is not compatible.... worth checking with Wooden camera or someone who has an A-Box
