  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Where in line are we and how manmy ordered?

Ordered on the 8:th, 5 days after release and got order no. 53035. If the first one was 50850, that would put me in the early 2k. Sounds resonable?

Sound reasonable. A lot of accessory orders in there that aren't scarlets. But also probably a number of orders for 2+ scarlets. Maybe the two balance themselves out.
 
SO-0051092.. ordered on 3rd.. but no deposit / bombsquad contact - But then I'm a European customer so there are probably other concerns in the mix. They'll get to me when they get to me :)

Nobody can answer i guess. there's one camera delivered now as long as we know. will they deliver one camera every 2 days? 200 hundreds per day? we don't know.
 
When they started the Epic X shipping it came out of the gates with only a couple a day. They ramped up pretty quick. I have a feeling they've been making bodies for awhile. And probably will be up to the 1st. My guess is there will be quite a few orders fufilled and shipped right or around the 1st. I could be wrong...Maybe it's wishful thinking but if they can get a good chunk of the PL mounts out prior to the 1st the floodgates will open.

I had to do a Wire Transfer so the funds are sitting in my red account for the Scarlet plus all my accessories/lens but I've only been billed for the RED Rocket which I ordered at the same time, and that arrives in 2 days (Monday)
 
Yup, me too, I have $11.5k in my RED.com account just waiting for my SCARLET with PL mount to be ready. btw my number is 51148, and I have not got a confirmation yet. Everything else has already been shipped to me, well except for my TOUCH LCD, I got an email saying that it is ready, but it hasn't shipped yet.
 
Also, it should be noted that Scarlet and Epic are more the same than they are different. A lot of the speed and efficiency gains or Epic production translate over to Scarlet.

I mean this in the nicest way possible, but this has been beaten to death.

The Sensors are the same. But the hardware is different. The ASIC's I think they're called are slower on the Scarlet. They can't handle the same amount of data and high frame rates that the one on the Epic can. The hardware itself is different.

Thats why the Dragon upgrade will require more internal work in the Scarlet, and cost more than the upgrade to Dragon for the Epic.

Oh no. Me either. I just had suspected with that question you hadn't. I'm sure if someone wanted to take on the firmware they could. But I sure as hell wouldn't install a firmware on a camera regardless of what frame rates it would give me on a 10K plus camera.
