  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Where in line are we and how manmy ordered?

Is that the number listed when you sign into red.com and click "open orders"? If so, some kind of error made that happen.

So if I understand this correctly (haven't had the stamina to read all 25 pages of this thread) I figure out my place in line by taking my number 53,267 - 50,850 = 2,417. I understand that these order numbers account for all orders at red.com that may or may not include Scarlet X brains.

Other than charging a few deposit here and there I don't expect anything to happen until November 17th. From that day Scarlet-X with PL mount should be ready for shipping and units will be allocated one by one. Then you will slowly see some progress.
 
Red charged my deposit on the 7th. Does that deposit date mean anything ?
Just wondering
 
We are coming close to the 17th. If anyone who ordered PL mount gets a request to cover the balance for the whole order, please share with us your happines :-)

Hey Gavin, any update on the graph? Would love to see what the purchase rate is looking like at this point.
 
SO: 51342, ordered at 11:26pm ET. I was charged the deposit on Nov 7th, just noticed. We are getting there! Would it be possible, to get an information on how many Scarlets will be shipped on Dec 1st? I'm not saying today, but perhaps in a couple of weeks? Thanks.

I think you are not getting the correct SO number from your RED online account. Because I have an order for other gear on Oct 30th that is SO 0050414. So there is no way for you to have 50126 for a Scarlet. No way. 51126 perhaps?

My Scarlet is SO 0050906 from 8:06pm PST.
 
Sure we have to wait little more than we expecting now - I personally expect to get some news from RED around March / April 2012. I did my deposit on November 3st :) So we have to be patient than. But RED definitely could ship a few Scarletts in flesh even in 2011. This is standard policy for brand new product from any vendors - they shipping maybe 50-100 units with keep in mind - these units could potentially have some critical but still unrevealed bugs and glitches, usually these units being recognized as kinda "beta release", after that they doing updates and fixes to bigger number of units and start shipping them. But it will be significant delay between this "early shipping" and bigger numbers of units being actually shipped to customers. Something like that. And I definitely don't want to be the lucky one who receive camera from this very first shipment :) It will be a lots of updates and fixes anyway. It always like that with any new products.
 
Any of you European guys do anything about the deposit-ordered the Scarlet Al Canon mount and on RED's website i have an open order(a good thing i hope).I was not given an option to pay the deposit by credit card but just before i was about to organise a wire transfer i noticed on my confirmation e mail this....* Your BOMB SQUAD rep will contact you to confirm your order, arrange payment and discuss shipping and handling fees with you before your order is processed.Does that mean they will eventually contact me to pay the deposit or should i just go ahead with the wire transfer??
Anyway, ordered 11/11/11-SO 0053796 if the figure is of any use to anyone.....man i could be waitin a while!!!
